but then i feel bad cuz idk of i created a standard cuz now i just am unable to keep that up. im very inconsistent about getting birthday gifts cuz my mental state and motivation varies

Don't feel bad about it at all, personally I think only doing it once in a while makes it all the more special. Plus mental health comes first

I used to do a lot of gift art cus at the time I felt a lot more motivated to draw when it was for other people, now not so much cus I don't have nearly as many "furry" friends as I used to

Yeah, I was mainly referring to gift art in particular and how you shouldn't feel like you have to do it consistently.

well i havent improved at art since high school so i dont think i need to really worry about THAT. but yeah like ketchup said its the gift art thing specifically.. its not that i dont not draw ever... though just getting a doodle out here and there is the most of what i can manage most of the time but i guess thats acceptable

'specially cuz i do hope to have a full art series for the story im writing. character art, scenery art, and of course cover art... key art for important moments of the story as well.
