His first post makes gives me the impression that he's often late when scum, and while the second one was probably most likely to garner a joke response like he received, I get the vague sense that he was/is hoping to use the response to get a somewhat ofan early sense the respondent's likelihood of being the Mafia Roleblocker.

Because he called it a good sign? I might've been overthinking but nobody corrected me so I've been going with I'm right on this. It's not remotely a main basis for my townread on him at this point anyway so I don't really hugely care if him being late is usually alignment indicative or not.

I guess I read it as like, it should be reassuring to other people? There's not a lot to that post to interpret based on so if for whatever reason someone like myself decided to try to do so there are probably quite a few different ways it could be read.

Mostly just because I feel it in my bones, and go almost entirely by vibes in the early game.

Buttt..... if I had to say something more concrete, I'd point out that you seem to be giving them towny points for initating setup spec discussion, which IMO is NAI. However, they gave themselves an out to base their D1 reads just on how people reply to setup spec, and IMO that is a red flag since again setup spec is NAI (easy for wolves to do, especially since many people do setup spec before they get their rolecards), and it leaves them the ability to pick and choose who gave "good thoughts" and "bad thoughts" without really having to explain why those people are suspicious.

But now, they seem to propose a strategy... but they are completely missing the actual value of that strategy, so for someone who wants to talk setup, I don't feel like they've actually considered how different strategies could benefit town (in particular, they seem to think the strategy's benefit would be to generate chatter rather than y'know... clear people).

Finally, the first post is one of the most vulnerable as wolves. As town, there is no pressure so it is easy to make a first post, but as a wolf, the pressure is greatest then (and after the first post, it is easier for wolves to get into the swing of things), so wolves tend to make certain types of first posts, and this sort of "vaguely helpful while asking a question" type first post is >rand!wolf IMO.

for me the answer is zero and the idea that thought would even cross my mind ever is pretty hard to believe

KoD is also a town lean for not caring about the pressure vote I made on him to start doing things. He's still not doing things though which is annoying so I'm gonna keep voting him for a bit though I might switch to Isett depending on their posts when they come back.

And yes. I did do a 180 on that post. Its not as though the town vibes I was getting were strong. And I really think the fact that Isett focused. Yes, Isett brought up a discussion point. Yes, I think that having discussion points in the thread is a good thing. But Seanzie pointed out Isett focused on their discussion point as a discussion point, and that is not remotely its primary merit. Clearing people is. And the more I think about that, the more I see that misfocusing of discussion benefitting scum much more than town; if they focus on it as a discussion point, rather than as a method of clearing people, than there's a chance other's will during the discussion overlook it as a method of clearing people as well, instead focusing on what Isett focused on: discussion generated, which on that subject, won't be great for getting good reads. And again, I overall agree that the general vibe of Isett's post is similar to first posts I've seen from some scum before.

Eh, maybe not. Maybe. It was early Day One so I had to go on what I had. But I do feel he's town overall regardless of whether this is true.

Honestly I have know idea what happened to that sentence. But yes there was probably supposed to be more to it, infer what I was probably talking about from every other post I've made about my 180 on Isett.

Fext, I'm confused by how you don't bring up how your role is just almost never a mafia role to repel my sudden onslaught, and I'm also confused why you don't call out how wack my progression on you is when literally a few posts ago, I had you as my top-town.

oh yeah I was gonna say this at EoD or SoD to give scum less time to think about whether or not I would say this as the Hider (I would, I come from ToS lmao), but I realize it may be better to do it now so people are prepping for it.

Remember that if you hypoclaim visiting somebody as Hider, they are "confirmed town" to you and you cannot ever question their towniness at any point going forward after you would have checked them. Any admission that they could be non-town is an admission to the Mafia of your status as non-Hider.

Pick targets with that in mind. The Hider, of course, should feel free to counter-abuse this if required.
