For many games, there is not enough hardware power or programming optimisation for a game to run 100% of the time at a stable frame rate. So a compromise needs to be made. We have a few...
Workplace Unions (in their current form).
The unions of today only care about profits, political lobbying and using violence and other methods of intimidation to get their own way.
I would much rather see the unions of yesterday year (decades ago) return. Unions that actually cared about worker...
For me this goes to Master of Orion 3.
The second game is legendary for how good it was. The 4th game is honestly not too bad. It is very playable and fun.
However the 3rd game is really bad. So back that most people just stopped playing it and went back to 2 or moved on to 4 when it came out...
That is if you ignore Nintendo Switch sales.
Also to even buy a PS5 these days it is either pay scalper prices or pay forced bundle prices at gamestop (or the store of your choice).
Near impossible to purchase a PS5 and only a PS5 these days.
Sony gaming is 100% US based these days. The US...

The big story boss battle music.
It just fits with the overall aesthetic of the game. Being dark and lonesome but also powerful based on the main character busing her ass to get the job done.
The Atelier series is 25 years old and has been celebrating it's 25th anniversary.

So far we have had a couple of collaborations...
For me it is Classic DOOM.
I try to run through the OG DOOM and DOOM 2 at least once a year. Just so I remember what the original is, because I have played a lot of mods and WADs.
Right now I am doing the Atelier games. Al 14 of them no Switc. Started with Rorona and now am up to Nelke.
Only have Ryza/Ryza 2 to go. I enjoyed all of them. Heaps of fun. Totally glad I went down this rabbit hole.
The direct had something for everything. Lots of quality and quantity there.
Those who hated on it (not mentioning any names) - I respectfully disagree with them. The direct was very good.
The important thing to note with this direct - you can easily see Furukawa and co are looking at new...
100% subjective. The best is your favourite.
My favourite is the cutter. Great mid ranged weapon and combos very well at close range. It's only downside is it's not long ranged, but realistically, there's little need for very long ranged abilities in any Kirby game.
Mario Galaxy 2 has the Grandmaster Galaxy. an easier (but still rather hard) and a brutal one hit death version.
This is not the first or last game to do something like this . . . but what is this and why does it exist? Lets have a discussion.
Many games seem to have this premise where 99% of...
Grandmaster levels.
The one or two levels at the end of the game that are 5000x harder than the rest of the game combined. Mostly all they do is block people 100%ing the game without serious grinding or serious skill. Way more than enough skill to easily beat the rest of the game.
Super Mario...

Easily Mario 64.
It's not the best but it shows what is capable with the old hardware and is a good starting point.
Note well - all games N64 and earlier were designed with CRTs in mind. This equates to non square pixels.
Thus you will never get a perfect output on modern display hardware. But...

No.
The most I have done is sell my NES/SNES/N64 collections entirely, decades after they stopped being relevant.
The discs and carts do just sit in a box. One day I'll work out what I want to do with them.
I have not gone back to many games of recent as I just move on to new ones. Mind you, at that point I have played the game for 40+ hours and totally donw with it. The games I do come back to are ones with far too much content to do before burnout hits - Hyrule Warriors being one example...
Honestly I really can not wait to replay this. As the initial game was really good.
I'll probably get it on PC though as I really think mouse and keyboard suits this game so much more.
My thoughts are overall it's looking good. The developer insights are well done. It seems the developers are...
Probably two. Bit only a slight regret as overall I am ok mostly with selling them.
1. Game and Watch console - Snoopy Tennis
2. Terranigma SNES cart.
The first was given to me and it could be worth something now but oh well, that was ages ago.
The second I know is worth a ton. I sold it for...
Daniel Ahmad is usually on the money, but he missed one important core issue. Good battery life. Sure it is 2-8 hours. I do think most games will be closer to 2 hours. Ie worse battery life than the Switch.
Secondly this is just playing steam games. My point is they are games made with PC...
Here is what different stores around the word have as pre-order bonuses.

No news yet apart from Atlus saying it will be seven new projects. We have to wait to see what the announcements are.

I prefer to have the correct boxes/art for the games I get. Easier to find the games I want when I pull them out of my box.
However if a game was really cheap and loose and I really wanted it, I would probably give in. I would buy an empty case for it though.
Which event presentation won E3 2021 in your opinion?
Feel to share why you think your chosen presentation won E3 this year too if you want.
The choices are
Summer Games Fest
Ubisoft
Digital Devolver
Gearbox
Microsoft (Xbox + Bethesda)
Square Enix
PC Gaming Show
Take Two
Capcom
Nintendo
Bandai...
I do not think there was a huge wow moment in this Nintendo Direct . . . but it was solid. Something for everyone. So overall it was a job well done.
2nd best event at E3 this year in my opinion.
For me the games from it that I am interested in:
WarioWare
Astria Ascending
Metroid Dread
SMT5...
I am also none of the above.
Unlike most people I actually watched the PC gaming show and for me there were quite a few wow moments.
Everyone's best new game will be different but for me my favourite has to be Sacrifire
It is coming to PC and all the major consoles. I'll defo get this on...
Here is every announcement from this year's Summer Games Fest and E3.
Just click the spoiler tags to see the games announced from each developer / platform holder.
I have to agree with one. To me it's the only non cutsey Yoshi game and that's why I like it so much. Especially the castle and cave music.
I really liked these two too. So much so I wanted to add them to my list but as you know tough cuts just have to happen.
MM2 is probably my favourite...
Black Ice Battle in Donkey Kong Country 2 comes to mind here. It is one of my favourite levels in the entire game.
Also I really like the ice cavern in Ocarina of Time. Part of me wishes it was expanded to a full length dungeon.
I do not like ice in most driving games. Zero traction and zero fun.
DQ3R is basically the Octopath Traveler look for a Dragon Quest game.
I thought 4 or 6 would have been a better start for this kind of remake, you allknow I'll get 3R and see how much I like it compared ot the original.
I am in the same boat as you both. Totally depends on the game for me too.
Usually I'll go Switch unless there's a good reason not to, as in price or major performance differences.
Musou games are the one exception. I seem to own most of them on PS4. The only Switch ones I have are Switch only...
What are your top 10 video game soundtracks or music?
They can be an official soundtrack or just a game in which you like the music.
This topic is inspired by the countless "top game" lists we have had on these forums over the years.
Note well: this based solely on the music in the games you...
I'm not doing a top 10, but I'll list 10 games I like a lot for various differing reasons.
Master of Orion 2 (PC)
Dragon Quest XI (Switch/PS4)
Dynasty Warriors 8 (PS4/Switch) - with all the XL content added
Persona 4 Golden (Vita)
Terranigma (SNES)
Secret of Monkey Island 2 (PC)
Metroid Prime...
Not really. It's average at best. Nice to have but totally not needed. Also a lot of people would skip it because resource management is a thing in Zelda games and being able to skip that by porting back to town whenever does break this challenge. Not that this game is very hard but still...
