I know its supposed to be only one game per franchise, but... I'm going to go ahead and break the rules since Mario and Zelda are the only franchises that ever really stood out for me.

In no particular order:
-The Legend of Zelda: a Link to the Past
-The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
-Super Mario World
-Super Mario Sunshine
-Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Some honorable mentions: Super Mario Bros., Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Yoshi's Island.

It's really hard to choose though... If I could, I would just say every game from my childhood.
