Sidequests in Skyward Sword

I want to see a trading sequence, but one more like WW did it, where you can keep the items you've already traded away, only with items or maps or something instead of just decorative stuff. I also want to see a lot of NPC interaction, even more than MM, and interweaving problems that they have that also tie in with the main quest. Maybe, instead of cucoo lady needing you to find her cucoos, or just asking you to find her fiance, she could do something about it, much like Kafei did in MM. I really liked the force gems in ST, but I thought there should have been way more of them. I was really dissapointed when I found out there were only 20. I love optional puzzles, like the ice block cavern. Lastly, I think there should be 5 or 6 optional items. They shouldn't just be upgrades or anything, I mean actual optional items that you can use to solve new puzzles and stuff. That way there could be all sorts of things all over Hyrule and Skyloft that you don't understand at all until you do some sidequest and get a brand new item that leads you to pieces of heart/collection items, etc.. That would be really cool.

MM style sidequests, and sidequests that you can repeat for rewards (rupees?). I'd love for escort type missions, defense sidequests, and others along those lines. If you recall in Twilight Princess where you had to cover the carriage and guide it to New Kakariko Village, you couldn't repeat the quest despite it being really awesome. Repeatable sidequests/minigames that involve the use of the sword/shield, and they give you a reward for each completion. That would make for a great if not legendary Zelda game.

MM sidequests are a must, because that was the only Zelda game that I replayed a lot! Some Spirit Tracks-esque side missions would be cool, as well. Also, some sort of collectible quest, in addition to heart pieces, just like the Golden Bugs or Skulltulas in TP and OoT.

Aside from seeing more character interaction in the sidequests like in Majora's Mask, as other people have suggested, I only crave two things out of sidequests and side material in general.

1. That it's spread out well and available early. I didn't like how in Twilight Princess, it's basically spoonfed to you a bit at a time, and there's really not much optional material available to you early on, but only late in the game. Majora's Mask was basically the opposite, and I think it was a better fit.

2. Optional dungeons. The Lantern Caves of Twilight Princess were awesome. I don't even need full dungeons. I just want dangerous tunnels, shrines, caverns, and ruins with some monsters, some puzzles, and some treasure, and have them sprinkled throughout the game. If they implemented this along with an expanded version of the PH and ST treasure system, this could create an amazing treasure-hunting dynamic to the series that I'd just die to have. They could even throw in TWW's spoils and extra weapons to that treasure system and make it even cooler, although as I've said in the past I sort of doubt we'll see non-sword weapons in Skyward Sword.

I really love doing sidequests, because it gets boring doing dungeon after dungeon. So, that being said, I'd love to do something like a Gold Skulltulla sidequest like in OoT or the golden bugs in TP. Another one I like is the Biggoron's Sword trading sequence. Or at least something like it. Trading sequences can get really boring but I quite like it. IDK... it can vary. I don't care as long as there is something else for me to do. :p

Over there, over there, and up there.
I would really like a trading sequence like the one in OoT, since you have a sword spirit it could be a sidequest to make that spirit stronger, thus increasing your attack. One thing I would like is that if they do have MM style sidequests that they don't so torturing :P for example in MM to get the Fierce Deity mask which was a huge prize you had to complete ALL the mask sidequests and even though I really liked doing it I was so frustrated with the Anju and Kafei sequence because it was really long and if when you got to the cave, you ran out of time (happened first time I did it) you had to restart the time cycle and do it ALL over again. So if they're gonna put a great prize, make the sidequest a bit less torturing. But now that I think about it, I guess if it was an amazing prize it would be pretty lame if the sidequest was really easy. Hmm, what a dilemma.

Well, I'm sure Nintendo will come up with something good enough for all of us. ;)

Didn't I already answer this one?
I always found sidequests to be one of the great joys in the Zelda series, and I look forward to some great sidequests in Skyward Sword. Majora's Mask had some fantastic sidequests that really got you involved with the NPCs, and I want to see something like that in Skyward Sword. Majora's Mask's sidequests brought the ability to really get to know NPCs, which otherwise would normally go unnoticed. The sidequests were so in-depth and really drew you in, and I think that was one of the greatest things about Majora's Mask. That being said, I don't want large focus on the sidequests to cause the downfall of the main story in Skyward Sword, either. I think that Nintendo, with its expertise that has been achieved over the years of making wonderful Zelda games, can handle this very well. I'm looking forward to a great game in Skyward Sword - look for a great game in every Zelda game - and I think that Nintendo definitely has the capabilities to provide us with what we've all been waiting for.

Most people can agree that some of the sidequests have been rather dull throughout the series, so I hope that Skyward Sword can present something new and exciting to us, like sidequests that somehow tie into the main story a little more, perhaps. I always found sidequests to be one of the relievers from the usual grind of battling your way through dungeons in the main story of the game. Collections quests would also be nice, but with something to spice them up. I like the idea of things like the Golden Bugs in Twilight Princess, where there were less things to collect and you received more of a benefit. The large collection quests that go over time are okay, but sometimes they're just a little tedious and seem more like a task you have to complete to feel like you've conquered the game rather than something enjoyable. Sidequests like the collections are okay, but I definitely want to see something a little different done with them and some other sidequests along the way. Optional dungeons is a great idea that I've seen brought up, as well.

In all, I think that there's a lot of things that can be put into Skyward Sword to make it a really awesome game. The new items and features that Skyward Sword is presenting to us will certainly allow more opportunities for exciting sidequests, and that's just what I'm looking forward to on Skyward Sword.

I had an idea for a sidequest. I think that the sidequests should really deep, kinda like the Anju & Kafei sidequest from MM. But I think the level of deepness should surpass that of MM's sidequests. Maybe something like, a woman in town had her little sister or daughter kidnapped by bandits or something and you have to break into their hideout, save the little girl, and then protect her as you make your escape. And after you escape, the lady who put you up to it is waiting there. And then it's heartfelt reunion time. Then it's time for a twist. You think it's over, but it's not. The leader of the bandits shows up to challenge you and you have to defeat him in an epic sword duel or something, protecting the two girls at the same time because he may make a few cheap shots and try to go after them. This is just my idea for a sidequest. I'd certainly like to see something along those lines.
