Well, here comes the next chapter. A CPU will die, but no people.

Day 3

Thurmal
District 1

We are heading back. Having found nothing on the trail of Alec, Sully, and Stella, we're going back to camp. We are walking back when we hear a wheezing noise, but it's just Quiro, breathing heavily from the long walk. Having all that red hair in his eyes wouldn't help, either.

He collapses, and I turn around. I always knew Quiro would be better at assassinations than physical jobs, but we needed everyone on deck to fight them. But it was pointless. There were no fights to begin with. Those fools must have led us on a false trail while they....My face pales as I realize the truth. ....while they take our base.

I turn around at Quiro struggling to get up. "GET UP!" I yell. "GET UP AND START MOVING, OUR BASE HAS BEEN TAKEN, WE NEED TO TAKE IT BACK!" He scrambles to his feet, and now everyone is looking alarmed. Chailyn speaks up. "Well? What are we waiting for?" We start running in the direction of our camp.

Someone lands in front of us. I recognize it as the girl from 11, Ashie. She looks up at us with an expression of contempt. "Careers," she says simply, with a snort. "I may not know who I am, but I know who you are," she says, pulling out her sword. I take my spiked gloves out. Looks like we'll be fighting. She lunges, but not at me. She knocks Chailyn's bow out of her hands, and grabs it.

She takes an arrow from her pocket, notches it, and fires. She hits the boy from 4, who falls silent immediately. The cannon sounds. It appears as though she'd managed to get only one arrow. Chailyn pulls out a knife and attacks. Ashie throws the bow down, and blocks it with her sword. I get in from behind and try to punch her, but she darts out of the way.

Quiro, the snake, isn't even trying to fight. He's just sitting back on a stump, catching his breath. Maria attacks Ashie with a spear, but she sidesteps and clangs her sword against her head, and she slumps over unconscious.

Before she can finish her off, Glisten (from 1) pulls out her sword and attacks. Ashie easily knocks her aside (Glisten was only 12). She is about to stab into Maria, but I intervene. I punch her sword out of her hands, and hold my fist to her throat. "You could join the Careers," I say softly.

"You are a worthy opponent. You could join us. We could use someone like you," I say. She seems to be considering. She finally says something. "I may not know my past," she says. "But I know whoever's at home will not like me joining you." She flips her sword into her hand and stabs me in the stomach.

I yell in pain as she scampers away. I am the one breathing heavily now. Chailyn motions for us to move on, and we oblige. Chailyn's in the lead now. We finally reach our camp. Or, at least, what's left of it. My head sinks as I see that everything of any value had been taken, and our place had been messed up. Well, at least there's the Cornocopia. And our little spy that is in the bunch.

Well, that's that. I'll post the rest of the chapter later or tomorrow.

Hahaha, that dang Ashie, lolz. She got attacked by like a thousand careers and survived! :P Naw, really, good story, I didn't have much to read in order to catch up, so all is good here, Myriad. Keep up the good work, friend.

Well, here you go.

Sully O'Hara
District 7

I watch with satisfaction as the Careers kick around their camp, trying to find anything to salvage. I know for a fact that there is nothing. They still have stuff at the Cornucopia, but Stella and Alec are taking care of that. The most demented of the Careers' faces is Thurmal, the most passive, Chailyn's.

I try to determine the leader of the group. Careers don't usually have leaders, but they order each other around sometimes. Thurmal's powerful enough to be the leader, but he lacks intelligence. Chailyn is intelligent enough to be the leader, but lacks power. Physical power, at least. I have a feeling that Chailyn's more of a threat.

I know it's only a matter of time before they find my hiding place, and I should be heading to rendezvous with Alec and Stella, but I like seeing their shocked faces. I stand up from behind the bush I was hiding behind, and turn around. My eyes widen as I see a sword to my throat. It's the girl from District 4, Maria.

"Ahhh," she says. "Sully." I look at her, and reply evenly. "Ahh," I say. "Maria." She rolls her eyes. "Guys!" she yells. "I've found a spy." The rest of the Careers come over, their faces written in glee. "Well done, Maria," says Chailyn. Thurmal steps up. "Don't congratulate her, I'm the leader, that's my job." "So? I can congratulate her if I want to-" "WOULD YOU JUST SHUT UP!

The boy from 2 steps up. "Kill him and get on with it," he says. Thurmal nods, but Chailyn shakes her head. "He could have useful information," she says. The rest of the Careers nod. "Question him, Maria." She keeps the sword at my throat. "So," she says. "What are you doing here?" I'm not paying attention.

I see someone moving around behind them. I recognize the person as Rio Blackpoint. He's moving around stealthily, unseen by the others. He picks up some food supplies the Careers missed, and scampers off. A prodding sensation in my throat diverts my attention back to Maria. "I said, what are you doing here?" she says, and prods me again. Blood trickles down my front.

I smile at her. "I wanted to see your faces when you saw your camp was ransacked." Thurmal says, "All very well, but we still have the Cornucopia, but weren't you working with two other people? Where are......Oh no.....THEY'VE TAKEN EVERYTHING AT THE CORNUCOPIA!" He runs off in the direction of the Cornucopia. "Wait, Thurmal,' cries Chailyn, and runs off after him.

The girl from 1 follows. The boy from 2 looks at Maria. "You go. I'll take care of him." She nods. "Thanks, Quiro," she says, and runs off. I snort. "Quiro?" I say, but I'm quickly silenced by a glare. He holds his knife at my throat. I realize something obvious. They hadn't disarmed me. I don't reach down, I just appear as though I'm shuffling to make myself more comfortable."

My hand grasps my hilt. I wait until he seems as bored as ever. When he finally seems like he ifs drifting off, I pull out my sword and knock his knife out of his hands. I scamper off before he can follow me. I'm breathin heavily. I make a mental note: never stick around to see their faces, no matter how ridiculous they are.

Good update, I really enjoyed it, Myriad. It's good to see Sully nearly got himself killed, and then it was cooler to read about Thurmal acting all tough. He thinks he is the leader but he lacks intelligence, I do wonder what will happen with him later on, probably wont make it as far as Ashleiy did, but that's just my thought. Good going, keep it up.

Finally, here's the next one.

Tekara Ki
District 9

I smile as I watch the Careers look at their ruined loot at the Cornucopia. They kick around, looking for anything to save. I had watched as Stella and Alec ransacked the place, taking food, weapons, and destroying anything they didn't want or need. Thurmal seemed to take it the hardest. I turn around, and head back into the swamp. I hate this Arena.

I hate it , hate it, hate it, hate it. The bog sucks on my feet, it's too humid here for my taste. I try to calm myself. No use crying over something I can't change, I tell myself. I really wish it had been something else, though. I go around and see the boy from 11, Elliot, giving some medicine to the boy from 10. I see a patch of bog that looks bile-colored (well, it always looks bile colored, but even more so).

I, like an idiot, noisily suck my foot out from the bog. Elliot turns around and sees me. "Career, or not Career?" he says, pulling out a sword. I hold up my hands in a show of surrender. "I'm not a Career," I say, and look at the other boy. He looks rather sick. "So, you've been giving him medicine?" I ask. He nods, and the boy speaks up.

"How do you know she's not lying, Elliot?' he asks, while standing up. His legs wobble and he falls to the ground, his face in the patch of bog he'd presumably vomited in. I step back. It seems self-centered, but I don't want vomit-swamp mix on my face. He stands up, and wipes his face off. "Why did I have to get this stupid stomach bug?" he says, to no one in particular.

"Do you want to be allies?" I ask. Elliot nods, but the boy from 10 doesn't. He retches and vomits into the bog again. "Sorry," he says. "Name's Zordo." I reply, "Name's Tekara." He tries to nod his answer, but he retches over again. He comes back up. "Zordo, should we let her in?" says Elliot. "I hate this stomach bug-I mean, yeah, ok. Maybe she could prove herself first."

Elliot nods. "Do you think you could provide us with some food for the night?" he asks. I nod. "I can do that," I say. "It's a deal then," says Elliot. Zordo doesn't say anything. I think you can guess why. I go and set up some traps. I wait a while, and a deer comes into my range. I flick my knife, it deliberately misses, it startles the deer into running into the trap.

The deer's dead. I call for Elliot and Zordo. Elliot comes, dragging Zordo along. "We're here," he says. "What have you got for us?" I reply, "One deer." Elliot smiles. "Great!" he says. We start to eat the deer, when Zordo vomits all over it. I look at Elliot, and I feel the impulse to either laugh or scream.

Before I can do either, the anthem sounds. The boy from 4 shows up. Our gaze is diverted back to the dead vomit-covered deer. We decide to wipe the vomit off and eat it. We send Zordo to the side of the camp so he doesn't puke on anything else. Guess what? It worked.

That's the end of the day.
