To be honest, this is giving me more reasons to buy a PS4 or a Wii U, i mean most the these features are just TV enhancements, are they trying to make a console or a console formed computer?

Confirmed rumors:

1) Microsoft will be spying on you through your console.

2) Microsoft has claimed the right to post any recordings on the internet. You may find them at your local porn site.

3) To save data, the Xbox One will automatically erase the game download after you beat the game. If you want to play again, you will have to reinstall it. This will only cost $20.

How doyou know how much it'll cost? PS3 cost $600 at launch after all.

Because I'm psychic, but also because exactly what you said. Sony's PS3 launch was horrendous. It came a year late to the party, cost $600 (even though they were selling at a lose) and took a few years to hit its stride. Sony's gaming department was hemorrhaging money. Microsoft knows this and obviously so does Sony. This time around one can say that both console developers don't want to have a high base cost per unit to keep price down and keep profits high.

Secondly, they're coming out at the same time. You have your brand *****s (this site is full of them) and core adopters who will grab their brand's beloved system blindly at whatever initial cost, but the companies obviously also want to hit soccer moms, or businessmen/women who have expendable income. So with their products side-by-side, Sony and Microsoft will set their pricepoint at them same point or lower than their competitor. So you can expect them to be around the same price (within $100), but lower than the $600 the PS3 debuted at.

It's just business...

Or That those dollars were US even.

Infact his thingy says his location is Canadian, so if its 600 in the US it would be more canadian dollars.

We pay American prices for some of our electronics. Our games and consoles are the same price as they are in the States.
Besides, parity between the USD and the CAD is pretty close these days anyways.

If this is true then Microsoft just committed suicide.

Holy crap, really? D:

After hearing these things about Xbox, I think I'll just stick to Nintendo and PC gaming for this gaming generation. :hmm:

If these are true, then Microsoft will lose a lot of fans. Also, Microsoft seems to have really let themselves go...

No, real consumers get screwed, and pirates still bypass everything.

Exactly which is why this used game pricetag is stupid. We'll still pirate, we'll still get things cheaper/free compared to people paying the full price, it's just a bad idea altogether.

You can't really stop pirates from pirating. Until all games are like OnLive cloud gaming and the data for the games is literally unreachable, it doesn't matter what they do.

People who hack these things (initially, following a guide already made isn't hard at all) aren't stupid and are just qualified to build/designed the system as the people who designed it.

Now, I wonder... if you gota be online when you install from the disks, will the data even be on the disks? If not why bother using blue ray. Even if the data isn't on the disk all it takes is 1 person to buy it, and then distrobute the data from their hard drives that can then be used on other hacked xboxs. Cloud gaming could listen to packets till it eventually built the whole image.

Only way to not be possible would be like OnLive where it streamed you video of the game you were playing while you streamed your keyboard/mouse/gamepad/touchscreen back to OnLive, rather then actually giving you data to the game. But the world isn't ready for that kind of gaming. For 1 there is controller delay, and infact thats all it takes. Who wants to play a shooter where it takes a half second + for the game to respond to any button you push, combined with actual server lag. Trying to play games thru my usb tv thingy, gives a delay and I tell you even under a second delay is crippling to precision controls.

As it stands now, nothing you can do the prevent piracy, will work and only hurt legitimate consumers. Granted you still need a bit of protection, I mean I didn't know about it back in the day, but the dream cast games could just as easily be put into a computer and copied straight to another CD. You gota at least set the bar for piracy to at least require the person to know what they are doing, and not just pick it up and do it in 5 minutes or less.

if you care about specs, then why wouldn't you just get a PC. Microsoft need to realise this... a games console is about console gaming, not raw power, 8gb Ram really isn't that good. The only reason you would get the Xbox One, at this stage, is for Halo and Xbox Live (which you have to pay monthly for anyway). It's no wonder that Wii U sales have dramatically increased after the presentation, it was just one big disapointment.
