Ever since discovering French artist François Baranger's art, and discovering he did some Lovecraftian horror art (one of my favorite art styles), I discovered that he's actually doing art books and picture books of H.P. Lovecraft's works.
I showed previews to my wife, and some of his art, and we both saw he's illustrated:
- The Dunwich Horror.
- The Call of Cthulhu.
- At the Mountains of Madness.
Recently, I saw he just completed in French,
The Shadow Over Innsmouth, and I'm basically foaming at the mouth for the translation in English to come out. I also hope he does
The Dreams in the Witch House, The Haunter of the Dark, and my favorite Lovecraft work,
The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath.
So knowing this, my wife went ahead and bought François Baranger's picture book of
The Dunwich Horror, and it arrives on Monday!
I've always loved cosmic horror, even as a kid, and I own a few Lovecraft anthologies, and I love some artists' take on the mythos. Since I've been a fan of Baranger's art, I'm
super excited to see his takes on it!
