I’m going to take to mean you, which means emiya only attempted to target me. Anyway I think that’s quite unnecessary and would be kept around for someone else’s use. Can’t exactly stop you though.

Considering that so many people targeted funnier last night, the Lightning Rod thesis isn't too farfetched. I'd wager that there's a JoaT-type role or maybe even a Dreaming God (someone who can affect the weather and disrupt the other roles). If that's the case, then the Doc most likely protected funnier.

Well with that logic, would it be safer to say you took priority over me in that regard?

@funnier6 kokirion included me, you, and Tristan in that scum team theory, not Kirino. Anyhow, it's not that Kirino was on the Tristan wagon, but that he focused almost all of his attention there while barely mentioning anyone else. So it's not the what he did but how he did it. He mentioned he found me suspicious yesterday as well, but his narrow focus yesterday definitely raised an eyebrow. Today he's taking a broader opinion and saying Flora, Sadia, and I are suspicious for defending Tristan and voting people on his wagon, which I think is an improvement, but I'm not sure about his read as I town read Sadia yesterday for her explanation of why she didn't want to vote Tristan and just her general thought process and Flora is trending up for me today.

I don’t think it is impossible that the mafia decided not to kill. It does not necessarily clear any player, for that would need a role claim from the person protecting him/her. Which would also reveal to the mafia who the doctor is, which is really little game for the town. Not killing on n1 is a good tactic to extend day 1 discussions.
However, I have reasons to believe that the lightning rod thesis may be plausible.


In my last game here I lynched multiple scum for them playing too perfect for scum, being in the perfect position everywhere. Now, if I would actively look at that to hunt for scum myself, why would I be sloppy and make the exact same mistakes if I would be scum myself?
I didn’t vote for Tristan originally because a vote based on that one post of him alone would be super weak. When I opened the game again, the situation changed and it seemed that maybe All might would be lynched instead of Tristan. I believed Tristan was a better candidate, because both you and funnier seemed to defend him, and lynching Tristan would be a good way to get more information on all 3 of you. And naturally I asked for Sadia’s opinion. She actively participated but did not yet vote, and naturally I wanted here to join the bandwagon on Tristan. If she wasn’t interested, I at least wanted to know why, maybe she had something interesting in mind she hadn’t shared yet.

There are some more things I noticed today that I want to talk about, but I’m currently a bit busy and have to type this on my phone. I’ll write more posts later tonight

Hmm, I can accept your reasoning, but a lot of this is WIFOM. Just because you saw someone do something as scum in another game doesn't necessarily mean you wouldn't repeat that same mistake yourself.

Something else I wanted to mention:

ALIT repeatedly defended Tristan on day 1. At the time I believed he may be trying to support his scumbud, but that was proven false after Tristan flipped town. What does bother me, is that ALIT now seems so eager to target anyone who was on the Tristan bandwagon. Sure, I would not consider each and every player on that wagon as certainly town, but I still see the Tristan lynch itself as a solid (yet unfortunate) choice, and not a stand-alone reason for suspicion. Some part of me wonders about the following scenario. If ALIT would be scum, he would've known from the beginning that Tristan was town. Maybe him defending Tristan was not an attempt to save a scumbud, but rather an attempt to gain town credit after day 1? And now by having the higher moral ground since he believed in Tristan's innocence from the beginning, targeting voters on the Tristan bandwagon would allow for an easy kill? Especially Kirino would be an easy target, since he also did not post much.
Now, I'm not saying ALIT is scum. Actually, his accusation against Kirino for not having posted much anyway is legitimate, but I can also imagine that Kirino is now simply an easy target.

Occam's razor: The simplest explanation is the right one. I found Tristan to be townie and defended him.

Well what you didn’t say was what actually makes that suspicious. I don’t him well enough to get a read in him easily but I feel like there are some points you could elaborate on cause it mostly feels like you’re scum reading him because he included you in a scum team theory.

Also just because you lynch town doesn’t make you scum. And just because you lynch scum doesn’t make you town. So I wanna see something deeper.

I totally forgot why I quoted this but I did want to ask you. Was it you or was it me? If you know what I mean.

If you’re town why shouldn’t it have bothered you if Mez was scum?

I find the first scenario much more likely than the second. That’s a bit out there for a Pendio game.

You’re like, taking the evidence to fit your theory. “If ALIT is scum, maybe this is why he did it.” Well either he or he isn’t and unless you happen to feel that he was attempting gain town cred, thus he’s scum, I see no point here. ALIT is scum, thus he was trying to gain town cred, isn’t an argument.

Then who are you saying is scum? Who are you going to vote? Have you any town reads?

Yeah okay, “the post is scummy” the question is, is Sadia scummy? I feel like most of what you’ve been saying is just pointing out “scummy” things and waiting for someone else to vote them for it so you can say you saw it the whole time and join in.

In pendios x men game there was a role that allowed someone to make somebody else a lightning rod and coincidentally they picked me so I was wondering if it had happened again.

The issue with this is that mafia is a game too deep in strategy to have Occam's Razor apply to many things. Scum and town both use crazy tactics, and that one was pretty simple anyways, meaning it is likely considering it is a common method of townie point earning.
