As Nick fired at the zombies he knew they would notice him for sure, and they did. However most of their attention was directed at the larger group, and so the one or two that were directed to him he was able to handle. As he fought he strained to hear the words of the others, to know what they were doing in hopes that he could help them somehow. At the words he was able to hear from Shannon he froze. His eyes widened and the zombies were not attacking him. Nick knew instantly what he could do for them. They probably hadn't realized he was there yet, and since there was no possible way either could get to each other Nick knew it was the only way anyone was getting out of here. He had to make the sacrifice, and when they knew of his presence they would know what he knew.

So Nick put the pistols in their holsters and shouted at the top of his lungs for them to hear clearly, and also to hopefully attract the zombies to him.

"I'm going to lure the zombies to a room that you wont need, then you have to do whatever it is you need to do!"

Nick had no idea about the bomb as he was unable to hear that part. All he knew was that they needed someone to attract the zombies to a safe room, and sacrifice themselves. Nick didn't wait for them to argue and started firing lamely at the zombies to get their attention, then he ran hoping they would follow.

((...you know what... Rainy, no, Nick is your only char, is he not? You know... heh. Silver is going to kill me for ignoring her plan...
EDUT: We got dis figured out. We're doing it my way. Not my pal, but... my style XD))

Kirinen fired again, then heard a voice calling out. Was it... Nick? Hold on. He's going to sacrifice himself...?

"Nick, NO!" she screamed, slinging the bow across her shoulder and making to run across the horde to his side. But a strong hand grabbed her arm and held her back--one that seemed not completely human.

"Someone has to do it," Kira muttered harshly. "Better that it's not you, Kirinen. There are people here who need you--nobody needs him."

Kirinen strained against Kira futilely, struggling to escape her literally iron grasp. "That's not true!"

"He want this!" Kira threw her hammer, finally taking another zombie down, then recalled it as quickly as she could. "Would you honestly take that from him?!"

Kirinen slowly stopped struggling. Her shoulders heaved, and she looked about to cry.

"It's all right! Don't cry, Kirinen!"

Kirinen looked up at the voice that spoke, her eyes widening suddenly. A bright, smiling face looked back at her, deep within the mob... holding some kind of advanced warhammer. Keriki.

"You've protected me for a really long time, Kirinen! And thank you!" She swung the warhammer--it moved so fast, hit with such a powerful impact, that it sent the zombie it hit the floor, although it rose again moments later. "But I think that I can protect myself now. Nick needs help, and only I can help him now!"

Kirinen choked back her fear, her wanting to scream, to hold Keriki in her arms. The girl had become like a daughter to Kirinen. But it was true--Keriki had somehow made it farther into the mob than any of them had and was clearing the path further. She'd reach Nick in no time, and was certainly drawing the horde's attention as a predator that needed to be taken down. She was drawing the attention away from the other five, onto herself.

"I know I can do this, Kirinen! I promise--whether I live or don't, I'll be all right!" The light in Keriki's eyes, the bright, cheerful expression, it held soemthing older now. Something that had seen teh apocalypse and knew it wouldn't see the end of it. She was an adult now--ready to take on the world at any cost, for the greater good. For the people.

She was ready.

(I love you Mono!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Nick had heard the shouting behind him and turned to see Keriki mowing her way through the horde to him. He was a little upset that she would be risking her life for him, but smiled in spite of himself. When she finally broke through the mob he spoke to her calmly.

"What are you doing?"

((Thank you, Rainy. I just do my best ^^))

Keriki gave Nick a sincere, heartwarming smile of encouragement. "I'm helping!" she stated simply, as if she knew somehow that he knew what she was doing and that she didn't actually need to say it.

Nick gave her the best smile he could muster at a time like this, and then began running again, firing at the zombies to keep their attention. He was upset that she had chosen to do this, but he was glad that he wasn't going to die alone. However he didn't know the outcome of the situation he was sure it was death.

Cyrus grimaced and then said, "I think we can get them out of there okay. If they can take cover we can minimize the damage they take form the explosion and clear the rest of the zombies. Also, C4 is directional so we aim the brunt of the explosion at the zombies that file in after them."

Cyrus grabbed the receiver in his pack and then flipped a switch on the receiver.

"It's on," he said. "When I press arm it'll be ready and then I hit the switch and it explodes, simple as that. We have one shot so we can't screw this up."

Cyrus yelled to them, "Take cover behind something, cover your ears, and hold on tight."

Turning back to Kirinen he said, "Have some faith," and then grinned. "It's how we've all survived so far. Ready?"

((Yeah, good luck with that Cyrus. All RPs Monologic: Kill everyone.))

Kirinen steadied her breathing for a long moment, then nodded. "I... I'm ready." Was she lying? She didn't know.

Kira heard Cyrus's warning and nodded briskly, ducking through an open door. There was a room full of complex, probably experimental weapons, and she rose an eyebrow before getting on the ground behind a table and covering her ears, hoping Kirinen had the sense to follow her.
She did, and Kira glanced up for a moment, gesturing quickly for her to get down next to her. The guys could fend for themselves, she supposed--she knew how Kirinen felt right now. Hopeless, helpless, weak, tired.

She'd felt the exact same way before.

Kira figured the kid was gonna die. Oh well, in her opinion, but Kirinen would inevitably take it harder. She'd been like a mother to that girl. She had to be there to support Kirinen, even if they didn't know each other too well yet.

Cyrus grabbed Kirinen by the collar and pulled her to the ground. The blast shouldn't reach them, but particles and heat would, and that wouldn't be good if they got skewered or burnt.

As he hit the floor, Cyrus flipped a switch up on the remote, and the pressed the button it. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion as reality lost all meaning. Fire and heat and sound came and yet everything felt so distant, as if he was watching in third person.

The explosion was loud and ripped through the zombies, frying some and leaving metal shards in others. Many fell, staying down for good, while others crawled along the ground slowly, no longer able to stand or possessing a lower body. But some where still very much on their own two feet. Cyrus, wasting no time began round two. One of them approached Cyrus and he swung his shotgun around, causing the barrel to jam into the things open mouth. Cyrus grinned and pulled the trigger, watching it's head explode in a shower of red, black, brown, grey, and white.
