ZD Legend
This is the single weirdest game of Axis and Allies that I’ve ever played. After the UK lost its fleet in the Mediterranean, Japan decided to send its entire navy down to India and stay there for 3 turns, leaving the Japanese mainland wide open to invasion from the US. The Japanese could no longer produce troops, so they decided to invade the USSR and help Germany in a two-front war. Meanwhile the Italians are running rampant throughout Africa and the Middle East. Germany manages to take Scotland, but they’re quickly kicked out by what’s left of the French army. It’s a clear Allied victory in the pacific, but we need all three Axis capitals to win the game while they just need four more major cities in Europe. We lose Cairo, then Leningrad, then Stalingrad, but somehow Russians manage to fend off three separate attacks on Moscow thanks in no small part to a pipeline of fighter planes from Australia of all places due to the fact that Japan all but left the Pacific and let them amass resources and territory practically unopposed. Eventually the US manages to form a consistent convoy of tanks across the Atlantic, temporarily taking Warsaw as a distraction and buying the time needed to let the Soviets recover. They then turned their attention to Norway and the Straight of Gibraltar, giving the western Allies a stable presence in Europe and taking back control of the Mediterranean (albeit with the looming threat of a Japanese fleet consisting of 2 empty aircraft carriers, a battleship, and a couple cruisers for some reason) respectively. Eventually it got to a point where we had been playing for 13 hours straight, and from the looks of it the game was likely going to go on for another few hours, so we decided that we would end the game there with no winner, albeit generally accepting that the Allies were at an advantaged state.
