I believe those spiders aren't usually aggressive unless you take them from their web and such, so maybe the kid came across one that was wandering, but I've also seen vids of people straight up grabbing em from the web without getting bitten so idk. I had 3 next to my porch last year but they haven't come back, I almost took one home cus it had built its web on some crud we had to move for a work thing, but it crawled out of the bucket I left it in so now it's just out in the woods somewhere
