Congratulations at both of you for trying the pinnacle of 2D Zelda. A commendable effort, really, because most would stop at or around Eastern Palace (first dungeon in the game) due to complaints about difficulty and/or boring. I personally subscribed to the former in the past; enemies dealt far too much damage than I felt was necessary. Time passed and I eventually warmed up to the damage ratio, which I feel is ideal for Zelda. Only thing next is to get the kind of damage -- contact and ranged -- back in the Zelda sphere.

Oh, maybe I'm rambling. If y'all have any trouble with ALttP, and the ZD mainsite guide doesn't help you out, you can always come back here and make a help thread. :)

This one is still my favorite of the series. I was a huge fan of the amount of mostly redundant items you could collect that still make things fun because you have a huge amount of options when fighting enemies. Fire them, ice them, bomb them, bomb everything because that spell exists. I don't think I have been as into any other game as much as this one.

The learning curve on this one is pretty amazing, but once you get it then the game becomes so much easier after that point. I remember getting pretty frustrated on my first playthrough since I used to die pretty often. After a while I got to the point where I actually beat the game without dying once. So even if it is frustrating at first it does get easier with time. You just need to learn some precision.

Have fun, but you'll be getting a lot of trouble along the way... so use a guide when you get to Death Mountain.

Skull Woods is where I got up to when my save file decided to delete itself (the battery's running out) :( I have since started again on the GBA version and am in Ganon's Tower. It's an amazing game but very frustrating! Good luck!

I cannot imagine a world without the internet, amazing. I barely use walkthroughs, but I can barely imagine games without them. So many people stuck, would that make the games back then easier? Saying that, I did complete OoT without the internet back in the day, I was most probably too young to know that walkthroughs existed, if they did.

Anyway, I never played LttP, I really need to give it a go. Thank you for making this thread and reminding me. :)

Dude, what is your deal get on it, ALttP is the greatest 2D Zelda game, and stands up to the test of time, playin it now still feels like a modern title, just dont look all cartoony like modern 2D games. Actually if you look at Top 100 list of greatest games of all time you will find that ALttP and Chrono Trigger (usually #1) are always at least in the top ten. go ahead check any website!

Anyways if anyone ever has any trouble with this game, add me, I know ALttP better than the back of my hand. Its a game i constantly go back to barred by non other than Megaman which is unfair to Zelda due to the amount of MegaMan Titles out there to play! anyways, Enjoy Snoober. and be proud when you beat it, cuz not a lot of people can play a game long enough to beat a game the size of ALttP!

Thanks so much! Yeah Ganon's Tower is kickin my butt. I only use the walkthroughs for the heart pieces. But I may have to use them in a few for Ganons tower haha
