General Zelda How Fast Do You Tend to Complete Zelda Games?

I tend to play fairly slowly. I approach each play-through with the desire to learn something new and cool about the game that I didn't know before. Especially with the newer games, I like to really soak in my surroundings (esp. while in a dungeon), the music, all of that. Since the newer games also tend to offer a lot more text to read, I try to pay very close attention to that.

As far as how long each game actually takes me, LoZ, AoL, and LttP are all one day games, OoT a couple of days, TP and SS about a week.

Most of my playthroughs are long ones.

If I'm playing a game for the first time, I like to soak in just about everything the game has to offer before I go face the final boss. I go for every Piece of Heart, Bottle, etc. that I can reasonably get (sometimes they just require too much work for the time I'm putting in; I've never once gotten that bottle from collecting all the ghosts in Hyrule Field and I have never found that last blasted Piece of Heart in ALttP) But yeah, I play for long periods of time, soaking in the atmosphere, seeing what kind of combat maneuvers I can use, trying out my items on whatever I feel like, all that stuff. My average playtime for a game is about a month; I think SS took me a month and a half to finish, but that had more to do with the fact that the game came out just before finals.

If I'm replaying a game, it tends to be a little shorter but not by much. I still like running around and seeing what new things I can discover and getting whatever collectibles and Pieces of Heart I want to at the time, but when I get back to the main quest I get through it much quicker since, well, I've already done it.

If I'm doing a 3-heart challenge, I try to make it under a week, outside circumstances notwithstanding. I just skip everything else and do dungeon rushes just to get to the end and fight for my life against Ganon.

Well, not knowing how to do things will make the first run pretty long for me, but I usually sit back and enjoy my games. Zelda is a franchise of mini-games, hidden caves, and sidequests. It's best to enjoy them.

I take about 65 hours for Twilight Princess, but that's the only game I keep track of.

I'm usually not in a terribly huge hurry, so a fairly long time. My TP playthrough was 65+ hours. I'd wager TWW took a good 50.

Um, depends on whether I'm hundred percenting it or not. If I'm not, maybe, say, about ten to fifteen hours? Yeah, thereabouts. That is, for the long games like TP, WW, and SS. For old school shorter ones, it'd be a lot less. Like, maybe ten or eleven to hundred percent Spirit Tracks or Phantom Hourglass. If I am hundred percenting the longer ones, depending on the game, somewhere just north of 30 hours at the most. I think MM took me the longest to hundred percent, but it was still less than 40 hours I'm sure.

It really depends on the Zelda game for me. My initial playthrough times all differ.

First Zelda game I beat by myself was The Wind Waker, with a total playtime of approximately 32 hours. I spent a lot of time just sailing around and looking for stuff (and I sucked at Zelda back then :P)
I beat Twilight Princess a month after its initial Gamecube release with a playtime of 93 hours. However, most of that time was spent sidequesting and just taking in the beautiful artstyle that the game presented!
Since then, I have become a lot quicker at beating games. For example, when I finally got around to playing Ocarina of Time on a file of my own, it took me just over 15 hours to finish. Majora's Mask took a hefty 23 (sidequests), and Skyward Sword took 14. I do not remember my first playtime for any other games.

On the First play through i tend to breeze through the main questline in less than 10 hours, on my second play through, when im trying to see ever inch of the over world collect ever item, upgrade, and heart piece, i have spent well over 26 hours playing through one play through.

so kick the games digital booty the first time, then find everything the game has to offer the socont time, cuz thats how i played them until OoT, since then i hurry the story so i can enjoy the combat and exploration afterwards!

I can fly through the ds games in a day cause i play them so much. OOT is now my all time favorite now so i can beat that in a 17 hours 100%. ALTTP 2 days cause it used to be my favorite. MM, SS, and WW are a chore to play so i have beat them twice and they take a long time cause i don't love playing them.

This is going to sound really weird, but it usually takes me months to finish a Zelda game the first time. Not because I find them too difficult or anything, but I simply don't end up with a lot of time to play games. The process usually goes like this: I get the game and play it a lot at first. Then something in real life comes up that distracts my attention -like a massive pile of school work. This causes me to put the game down for an extended hiatus. After a month or two, I remember I still need to beat the game and pick it up again. The cycle then repeats until I beat the game.

Truth to be told, this is pretty much how I approach any game. I can usually beat handheld games in a reasonable amount of time, since I can play them in short bursts, but for some reason I find scheduling my time with console games more difficult. I still haven't beaten Skyward Sword yet, and I bought the darn thing on launch day.
