There have been many great Sonic the Hedgehog games and many great levels. So I was wondering, which ones are your favorites?

Mine are:
Sonic 1: Green Hill Zone, Spring Yard Zone, Scrap Brain Zone.
Sonic 2: Chemical Plant Zone, Aquatic Ruins Zone, Casino Night Zone.
Sonic 3: Angel Island Zone, Ice Cap Zone, Launch Base Zone.
Sonic and Knuckles: Flying Battery Zone, Sky Sanctuary Zone.
Sonic 3d Blast: Spring Stadium Zone.
Sonic Adventure: Emerald Coast, Lost World, Speed Highway.
SA2: City Escape, Green Jungle, White Jungle, Radical Highway, Pumpkin Hill, Metal Harbor, Crazy Gadget, Cosmic Wall.
Sonic 06: Wave Ocean, White Acropolis, Crisis City.

Yea, I like a lot of Sonic levels...

All of these! ^ ^ ^ Aha, but If I had to pick a few it'd be Crazy Gadget, and City Escape. SA2B had awesome stages! ^^

Some of my favorite to just roam around in as well as listen to the music might be the Star Light Zone from Sonic 1 and the Marble Garden Zone from Sonic 3. I especially loved the boss fight of the Marble Garden Zone. I liked the strategy of having Tales fly you above to Eggman and you had to fight him in mid air. That was very different from the common in a closed space and you just hit him while avoiding whatever he shoots at you again. Other than that I mostly like the visuals a little more than the gameplay of the levels. They make a decent backdrop for Sonic to speed through, especially the Star Light Zone. I thought racing through the downtown area of a huge city was a cool idea, and I would like to see a bit more of it. Normally you are in the woods, or up in the sky, sometimes in the industrial area of town.

I remember not really liking any level in Sonic 2 very much. I thought the Sky Chase Zone was an interesting change to the usual gameplay but it was very short. Closely wedged between two levels I did not really care much about.

Sonic 1

Green hill zone The first iconic level in the sonic series. What's not to love about it. Has an excellent tile-set. Enjoyable music and a good level layout.
Labyrinth zone Some may not like this zone, however I found it quite fun. It slowed aspects of the game down yes, but I did enjoy it for being different, and quite challenging.
Star light zone It's mainly the music and tile-set that does it for me. It's a lot of fun however.

I love all the levels in sonic 1, except for marble hill zone =/

Sonic 2

Chemical plant zone I love the speed you can gain running down those chemical pipes :D Catchy music and of course as always a great layout.
Metropolis zone Great music, It's a huge level, with greater difficulty than most. Can get frustrating in places ;)
Wing fortress zone I love this level as I find it one of the hardest levels in the game. It's just an epic joy ride.

The only levels I find kind of bring is aquatic zone, oh and frustrating has to be oil ocean DAMN THOSE SEA HORSES !

Sonic CD

Collision chaos One of the craziest levels with the craziest music (Jap) in any sonic game IMO. This level is a visual representation of my brain.
Wacky workbench I prefer the past segments of this level, that damn floor on the other hand >(
Stardust Speedway I love this level, the layout can be exciting yet, annoying, that segment at the end of the first zone. That music and the race with metal sonic <3

I love each and every level in Sonic CD , they all look so beautiful.

Sonic 3 and knuckles

Carnival night zone I love the zany levels in sonic. Oh but that DAMN BARREL !
Icecap Zone It's a fantastic snow level I enjoy most of it... mostly
Launch base zone Those vocals <3 It's another huge level that can sometimes get frustrating but it's rather fun and good to look at.

I really dislikes some of the levels in this sonic game, I found marble garden zone quite boring, and sandopolis zzone annoying (those segments with the rope). Still a great game.

I actually liked Sonic 2 since it was one of the first Sonic games I've played. Even before Sonic 1. I never actually played Sonic 1 until 3 months ago, which I'm kind of ashamed of. But I still liked Sonic 2.

The oill sea zone in Sonic 2, You ask why, Simply because it's symbolic to the amount of resources humanity wastes. Humanity wastes too much resources on such trivia needs.

Stop making up symbolism... And I thought you hate humanity for being "evil"? So why do you like everything that "relates" to all of humanity's wrong doing? Make up your mind.

Anyway, I find it hard to choose a certain stage from any Sonic game. The ones seen in the good Sonic games, are fun. Green Hill Zone, Chemical Plant Zone, Casino Night Zone, Icecap Zone, Mushroom Hill Zone, Doomsday Zone, City Escape, Radical Highway, Metal Harbor, Route 101, Green Forest, White Jungle, and the Final Hazard have always stood out to me though.
