Rolling is a 3D Zelda mechanic. There's no reason to believe it will return in ALttP2.
I'm going to make a quick SB convo out of this.
<TMCLink> So...I press R to roll, right?
*TMCLink presses R.
*TMCLink rolls.
<TMCLink> Huh...so this can be used for special attacks, too?
*TMCLink rolls.
*TMCLink presses the attack button.
*TMCLink performs the Roll Attack.
<TMCLink> Dayum, I'm good.

Case in point, rolling definitely works as evidenced by The Minish Cap.

Nonetheless, I believe this game will not allow rolling, remaining faithful to ALttP.
As do I, though I'm starting to have itching doubts considering they're bringing in a foreign concept - the stamina bar - to this title.
If rolling were allowed, wouldn't those who demoed the game after its announcement have noticed it? Rolling would obviously be assigned to one of the four face buttons. There's no way someone could miss it.
Not necessarily. I don't have any facts for this, but it may be that the demo was an alpha/beta build. After all, there was no subtitle for the game - or the trailer - when we first caught wind of the thing (or even now, I think). Rolling may be added post-demo.
It's likely that rolling will be excluded, but again it may have just not been programmed into the game build at that point in time.
