Pretty neutral on it thus far, seems like it fits the idea of the openness of the game though. So as long as the game is great I'd say within a few years I'll look at it as iconic.
I wouldn't be surprised if you get it fairly early on... the presentation so far could just be to create further ideas that this game is something new and different.
Not necessary of course (remakes rarely are) but I am glad it was done; personally I couldn't get into it on the Wii. I love the Wii U Pro Controller and playing this game with it works extremely well for me.
I think it will be essential to some sort of dungeon at some early point in the game. Then it will have non-essential use at other points, like accessing secret stuff like heart pieces (or whatever the equivalent in this game ends up being).
Midna is great; I did not like her initially but if you are going to have a character that teaches/aids you in the game, it might as well be one with depth and personality!
I'd like to know the origins of the Sheika Slate as a start. It's a very bizarre, yet intriguing, idea. It reflects changing culture e.g. our dependence nowadays on smartphones. Fascinating stuff.
I think its too complex, personally. One of the things that made Mario Maker fairly easy was the simple mechanics, while also have a lot of variety. The design of Mario levels are diverse but always fundamentally the same. As an aside, there are some very cool Zelda inspired levels on Mario Maker!
I'd love to see something akin to the established games as a new adventure. But you know what I'd love to see, as a start? Some kind of collection that includes some of the early games e.g. Red, Yellow, Gold, etc... Nintendo has precedence for this with the Zelda releases on the GameCube, the...
Yes that mechanic was a pain; in some ways though, it gave me an incentive 1. Not to die as much (lol) and 2. Made me want to get more rupees so I explored more. But yeah I agree, deserves more credit!
I love this game, personally; I fall into the Youtube Rabbit Role sometimes (don't we all?) and I rarely see this game on any top 10 lists. I think it many ways, this game can serve as a model for BOTW in its openness. I personally think it's nearly flawless, perhaps the handheld contributes to...
Has to be
'The flow of time.. is always cruel'. Such a great line in a game where time is so significant, while also being so relatable to our lives in general. But there are so many great ones!
I agree and have been thinking this for a while, that it's a natural progression related to gaming in general. It's a return in some ways to the original NES game while being modern. It's very interesting.
Hard to pinpoint one thing. I don't know if it's really that it's whole sail shifting; rather, I think that all of the little things to take advantage of more complex gaming add up to make the game appear more complex and open while retaining what makes Zelda games great. I think it's a good thing.
I think that's a highly likely scenario, I'd love that.
I'm not sure why either, other than I think they are waiting for a very slow news cycle to be able to dominate the tech conversation. But I agree with you; my decision on whether I purchase this console immediately leans a lot on the Zelda...
Hey folks, new to the forum. Huge Zelda fan (obviously!). Just saw this article:

Curious to know if anyone has any thoughts/speculation on a tie-in bundle. My thought is that Nintendo...
