Honest question: Why do you guys want alts so bad? You already have them for mafia, so like... why? I genuinely don't even understand why you're all putting so much energy into this.
from what I've seen the posts per page is hardcoded into xenforo, unlike vbulletin or other software. most likely you'd literally have to **** with the php source code and that would just cause catastrophic errors when updating or anything else.
If you can't handle the criticism, then you might as well delete this thread with your newly discovered magical admin powers that have lied dormant for a year now.
I was surprised when I found out this wasn't a feature in XenForo. It's a nice feature and I've been looking for ways to re-implement it. If I find a way to do so I definitely will, because imo it's a major flaw in Xenforo not to have this.
There's really no correlation between lack of posting and allowing everyone automatic access to the shoutbox. During many periods of high activity on the forums, there wasn't daily post requirement, and during periods of low activity, there was. There were periods in 2008 - early 2009 where the...
The admin banner is possibly the worst:
The pill shape is bad enough, but then the weird embossed crest and misaligned text (which looks bad on its own even). It just looks like an embossed pill from hell.
Yeah this is exactly what I wanted to do.
There were a couple similar ideas proposed, a lot centering around clans, but also an idea to make ranks like WS et al badges instead of full ranks. Regardless I really think this shouldn't be rushed and there should be a thread getting input for new...
That has nothing to do with it. It's the fact that the first two have non-existant contrast. The WS one is better, but the first two I just can't even tell at all, it's just a muddy gray.
Main thing though is that I think there should have been a complete redesign of everything, even new rank...
I honestly can't even make out what they are supposed to be. They have like zero contrast and look awful. I also think the large banners look pretty bad, given their overall shape, offsetting and weird desaturated glow. Why the sudden rush to do this, anyway? I wanted completely new banners and...
Updated for all groups. Avatars and profile pictures (seems silly to have a different limit for profile pics than avatars) are now buffed to 150px by 150px and the file size limit raised to 64KB by default.
Yeah, I noticed this a while ago. I don't see any reason for it to be enabled (just today, it was abused in this blog), as deletion/reporting of comments is handled separately. It's a simple permission switch and can be disabled without affecting anything else.
Mods have a limit of 100 images, and webmasters/admins are unlimited. Community Coordinator and Article Admin are limited to 4. Site staff and Article Writers have a limit of 7.
The PM thing is easy. It's in the ACP under Options -> Private Messaging Options. It should definitely be increased to at least 30,000. The database will support up to 16,777,215 characters (pmtext field is a mediumtext).
As if getting a hold of Locke is easier on Skype. Your acting like you somehow know just what you're talking about all the time is really getting old.
That's BS and you know it. Even not that long ago, The Office was used for discussions instead of just reports and infractions. Hell, not even...
...wants to do anything. Even among all the complaining about the forums, there is no desire to improve anything. Everyone just wants to casually ***** and moan and then go back to ignoring the problems. There hasn't been any real leadership on the forums since Mosley and Justin, and despite...

It's the new Facebook clone chatbox. It's horrible in every conceivable way, and will often break the entire page or make it load really slowly. It's an abomination that should not exist.
I actually like this idea. It's easy for a suggestion to get buried in a thread like this one, and often people want to flesh out a suggestion more, or just discuss it, and it's hard to do that in a thread that also contains a dozen other suggestions at any given time. The whole "Petition for X"...
I agree completely. Sir Quaffler is clearly acting on personal bias and grudges against members and not even trying to be objective. He has infracted several members for things that aren't even offenses (see the Contest Unfair Infractions thread).
I would also like to know this. Actually, I think we should have "Vain" for likes, and "Pain" for dislikes. Then, we you get an equal amount of both, you get the PAIN IN VAIN achievement.
That's a terrible idea. A strikes system would be heavily abused, and the rules are actually strict enough as it is. More rules does not mean better discussion. In practice, there's an inverse correlation between the two. Having a few, well-enforced rules always works better. If people feel too...
I say we crush the Zelda forums. I feel all this section has done is create pointless arguments over motion controls and let JuicieJ mindlessly praise Skyward Sword while berating everyone who is not himself. It's unhealthy for the forums, and I truly believe it should be removed until actual...
