Legend of the Soaring Spear is a Shrine Quest in Tears of the Kingdom. Located in Tobio's Hollow Cave, it reveals Utojis Shrine.
Overview
Tobio's Hollow Cave has an elevated platform that lights green when Link stands on it. Opposite the platform there is a pillar on an island, extending from the ceiling to a small island in a pond. The pillar has a ring that also lights up green when Link stands on the platform. A small journal next to an old campfire is nearby, as are two Zonaite Spears. The journal describes the task.
"Legend has it that the Zonai hid a treasure in this cave long ago. The clue is as follows. 'Throw the Zonai spear with a wing from the pedestal, through the ring. Should your aim be true and right, you'll be blessed with the dispelling light.' I have thrown the spear countless times in pursuit of this legend, but never once managed to get it through the ring. My spirits blunted, I have given up. I leave a record of this clue in the hopes that whoever tries next will have better luck."
As described in the journal, fusing a Zonaite Wing or a Keese Wing will not cause a thrown spear to seek the target, as with an eyeball fusion. Link will need to aim a little higher to throw the spear through the ring and complete the task. The Shrine of Light will then appear.
Walkthrough
- Read the Tattered Notebook to begin the quest.
- Pickup one of the Zonaite Spears that are right in front of the notebook.
- Drop a Keese Wing and fuse it with the Zonaite Spear to make a Soaring Spear. If you don't have a Keese Wing, defeat some of the Keese that are at the entrance of the Tobio's Hollow Cave, or the ones that are deeper in the cave.
- Climb up and stand on the higher surface so it highlights green.
- Aim at the target in the distance. The spear will lose altitude as its thrown so aim a bit higher than the target.
- Successfully throwing the spear through the circles causes the Utojis Shrine to appear, completing the quest.
