Chuchu Jelly is a material found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.
Breath of the Wild
"A gelatinous substance that came from a Chuchu. It's unusable in this state, but applying a bit of elemental stimulation will change its form."
Chuchu Jelly can be obtained as a drop from the standard Blue Chuchus found in the grassy plains of Hyrule, including the Great Plateau. Chuchu Jelly can be sold to shop-vendors such as Beedle for 5 Rupees each. Alternatively, they can also be traded with Kilton at his shop, the Fang and Bone, for 3 Mon each.
Plain Chuchu Jelly can be used to cool oneself down at the Gerudo Desert by striking it with non-elemental weapons, causing it to explode and douse Link with the water contained in it. This cool down lasts about 30 seconds until the heat starts affecting Link again.
Upgrades
Link can use Chuchu Jelly to upgrade the Soldier's Set. The Level 1 upgrades of the Soldier's Armor, Soldier's Helm, and Soldier's Greaves will require 5 Chuchu Jelly, along with 3 Bokoblin Guts.
Cooking
Like other monster parts, Chuchu Jelly can be cooked with Bugs, Frogs, or Lizards, to create Elixirs. The Chuchu Jelly doesn't add anything of substance while cooking, but are required to make the Elixir. If Link adds Chuchu Jelly to a dish with regular food, or if the pot only contains monster parts, this will result in Link making Dubious Food.
Elemental Transformation
Plain Chuchu Jelly can be irreversibly(*) transformed (referred to as "stimulation" in-game) into the other types of jelly under various circumstances:
Action with plain Chuchu Jelly |
Result |
---|---|
Strike with Ice weapons Vicinity of frost attacks Placing in cold areas |
White Chuchu Jelly |
Strike with Fire weapons Vicinity of fire attacks Dropping into/close to fire |
Red Chuchu Jelly |
Strike with Electric weapons Vicinity of electric attacks Stricken by natural lightning |
Yellow Chuchu Jelly |
(*)Note: "Irreversibility" refers to the fact that the plain Chuchu Jelly cannot be turned back into its plain state from any of the three elemental states; however, the elemental jelly states can be transformed between elemental states.
Transforming jelly with elemental weapons prevents the player from having to travel to locations where elemental Chuchus are found.
Age of Calamity
"A gelatinous substance that came from a Chuchu. It's unusable in this state, but applying a bit of elemental stimulation will change its form."
