Breath of the Wild

"A precious blue gem mined from natural rock formations. Sapphires contain the very essence of ice. They've been known to fetch a high price since ancient times."

— In-game description

Sapphires can be obtained from miscellaneous Chests in the game, from mining Rare Ore Deposits, and it is also a common drop from the Rare Stone Talus. It is required if Link wants to purchase the Sapphire Circlet from Starlight Memories in Gerudo Town, since 3 are necessary in the manufacture. Alternatively, they can be sold to shop-vendors such as Beedle for 260 Rupees each.

Locations

Sapphire are not very common in the early game as they are primarily found in treasure chests on the outskirts of the map of Hyrule. They must abundantly appear in the Gerudo Highlands, Hebra, and Faron regions.

  • As part of the Misko, the Great Bandit quest, Link will find a hideout, just south of the Hickaly Woods where there are two Sapphire.
  • In the center of the bay, just south of Palmorae Beach, west of Soka Point, and north of Cape Cresia. There are two treasure chests underwater, with one containing a Sapphire.
  • South of Korne Beach and southwest of Rimba Beach, there is a triangle of large rocks with several chests in the middle of them underwater. One of them contain Sapphire, and there is another one just to the west that also contains a Sapphire.
  • Just northwest of Tenoko Island, right next to the Chaas Qeta Shrine, there is an underwater treasure chest.
  • Southwest of Martha's Landing, there are a series of rocks in the water and treasure chests, one of which contains a Sapphire.
  • West of Aris Beach, there are some rocks in the water with a pair of treasure chest, one of which contains a Sapphire.

Age of Calamity

"A precious blue gem mined from natural rock formations. Sapphires contain the very essence of ice. They've been known to fetch a high price since ancient times."
