Got away in tornado as has been said. Zelda is a jerk at the beginning when you pushes you off the ledge. She cares more about her bird who can fly than Link who almost fell to his death. Jerk...

I am guessing that it just went back to Skyloft and hung out like all the Loftwings that do not yet have a master.

Probably flew back to Skyloft after getting lost and waited for Zelda. Or just hung out with Link's bird, because what else could it do?

You saw that Zelda was knocked of her Loftwing so you know they didn't go down together and the Loftwing could have been knocked out and then just waited for Zelda to call again.

I like to think it was off mourning the loss of its master, and Link's Loftwing was comforting it while Link was on the surface... But I'm just a romantic like that. xD

I'm on board with those who think that after the storm, the bird knew that it couldn't descend after her and went back to Skyloft to wait.
