Working from Home

Given the recent circumstances the world is facing many people have found themselves working from home for the first time.

Do you prefer to work from home or go to the office? Perhaps a combination of the two?

I've never had to work from home for my job except a single day when I was a little unwell back when I was working in Tokyo, so I don't really have any idea of what it feels like to work from home on a regular basis. I like the idea of having the flexibility to work from home but I wouldn't like to do it every day. I think work from home over a long period of time has the potential to get somewhat isolating since one of my favourite aspects of going to work has always been the socialisation and opportunity to make new friends. Working from home a few days per week would probably be a nice balance to me, but I imagine people who live in small apartments or who live with loud families may find it somewhat more difficult to work from home at all.

I'm not computer literate and I freak out on the phone, so there isn't much work I could do from home.

I don't have a job anyway though and most of the ones around now in the UK are for helping track and trace the virus and I don't want to be responsible for the health of others.

I would prefer to be in the office either way though, too many distractions at home.

I like to keep my home life & work life separate just for the mental aspect of being able to "switch off" from work.

Given the circumstances working from home isn't too difficult at the moment since there isn't much I can do & what I can do is pretty easy.

Overall I think having the choice to work from home is the best thing as going into work for little mundane things is a waste of a trip but all the time. No thank you.

It's impossible for me to work from home. I sort the mail so I have to go to the sorting centre. they won't deliver mail bags at my door. That would be impossible. And right after I'm done sorting I head out to deliver the mail. Also something I can't do from home unless I ask the people to pick up their own mail if they even have mail :P
I'm glad I don't work from home because there's a chance I would fall back into old habits and then everything would be done way late :ohno: plus I love the contact and small talks with people I meet on my daily round :D

I like working from home some of the time, but it's harder to be as productive, oftentimes. I certainly don't miss commuting daily.

I've been alternating between coming in and working in the office and that's been alright.

I work in a kitchen so working from home isn't really an option for me, so I'm not too sure. I did do an experimental online drum lesson not too long ago and it wasn't too bad, I can see myself doing more throughout the rest of the summer. I'm also interested in doing a live solo concert via livestream, but I don't really have the means to do that at this time.

I've been working from home since near the end of March and I love it. I don't want to go back to the office, and really hope I don't have to once things are back to normal. WFH has honestly been my dream job for a long time, and in the 2 months I've been WFH, I've enjoyed it so much more than working in my work's office. It's been a lot better for my mental health, and I gain nothing from working in the office, since I don't interact with anybody in a non-work-related manner, I just sit in my office chair pretty much all day and I have to deal with a 30 minute commute to/from work, which makes my time schedule way more inflexible than being able to work literally whenever when at home.
