What would you change about your favourite game?

I don't really have a favorite game, most of the games I had growing up, I love them equally. I know this isn't really answering the question, but I really couldn't tell you.

Botw: more enemy variety. more intricate quests beyond "get me 100 grasshoppers", actually on the timeline with coherent lore

TP: Make the map fit better with previous maps. fill the world with stuff to do. Give items more use beyond the dungeon they're found in.

Xenoblade: probably some kind of vehicle or mount, just some form of transportation so you don't have to jog everywhere, I thought you'd have access to juju's buggy when you first discover it in the gaur plain, but was disappointed to find that wasn't the case

GTA Vice City: for the 'messing with the man' mission to have never been conceived as an idea; also as glitched up as this game is, I wouldn't change any of them save for one specific one, when gangs are after you and you jump onto a car, they'll just spawn pistols and start shooting at you [even if they clearly had no weapons], a lot of the time this crashes the game so of course I'd rather that be a non issue, most other glitches I prefer to keep

Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence: nothing, this game's perfect, don't e@t mii

Normally, I'd prefer if other games in this series had more elements from this game, but I'd love if there was a greater focus on non-quest/non-story events/interactions. There's some wonderful ludonarrative in the base game, but its mostly due to the combat and resource system, and having some more moments where the game asks you to interact with your surroundings would be splendid. In the first stratum, there's a good number of interactive sections, where you have to decide whether or not you want to eat some potentially unripe fruit, or if you want to leave some supplies for other explorers, and moments like that in later stratums would be amazing. Perhaps in the snow stratum you find a natural hotspot in the frigid cavern, and while you can stay and rest for a moment, it opens your party up to getting ambushed by monsters, or you can accidentally stay too long and risk hypothermia.

Nier: Automata
Give more interesting gameplay with the other playable characters. While 2B feels wonderful to play as, 9S's hacking minigame gets fairly repetitive after extended play sessions. The more offensive moveset of the last character is somewhat distinct from 2B, but they end up playing so similarly that I legit forgot their moveset was different until writing this post.

Pokemon Platinum
I would just move the Move Deleter to somewhere earlier in the game. I hate using HM slaves, so I load up some HMs on my team, which usually have decent usability for a while, but I don't want my Roselia to have Cut anywhere past the third gym.

I'm surprised you didn't say to just outright get rid of some HMs altogether, sinnoh had some really bad ones

Honestly, I like the concept of HMs, since having my own Pokemon interact with the environment was a fun little sorta-immersive bit, even with some of the bad ones like Defog, but I just wish you could delete them like regular moves in that game

My favorite game is Breath of the Wild. Honestly, the only thing I would personally go out of my way to improve about it is adding companion features with NPCs. Being able to team up and adventure with them, more quests like escorting them to places and learning more about them as people, that kind of thing. The AI is there, and I wish they did more with it than lock it behind a Wolf Link amiibo.

My favorite game ever is Super Mario Galaxy. There are 2 things I would change: first I would get rid of the tutorial dialogue. After that I would get rid of that stupid trash blowing-up minigame. Seriously you have to do that crap 4 times to 100% the game!

My 2nd and 3rd favorite games are WW and MM respectively. It’s hard because I think of these as the closest mankind has ever gotten to a truly flawless game, especially MM. For WW I would probably just do more of what the HD remake did: streamline everything and get rid of unnecessary animations. If I absolutely HAD to come up with something for MM it would be to completely revise the first cycle and make it less boring.

My 4th favorite game is pokemon. Just Pokémon in general. Obviously what I would do is completely cancel production of sword and shield and start from scratch. Get rid of unnecessary gimmicks, but keep megas. In fact I would increase the number of megas, especially ones from unova.

My 5th favorite is smash ultimate. I would tell the dev team to choose 3 fire emblem characters and get rid of the rest. Then I would tell them to add a Zelda character. We haven’t had a new Zelda rep since melee (toon link doesn’t count). Tetra and skull kid would be my picks but I would be happy with anyone not named Midna or Zant. Other than characters I would have a subspace emissary 2. World of light kinda fun at first but was honestly disappointing so a new story mode would be great with all of the new characters added since brawl.

I think my favorite game is wind waker. How I would perfect it? Adding a fleshed-out underwater hyrule to explore, I think. That's just wishful thinking on my part- I think wind waker is already just about flawless as-is.

I'll go for my top 10.

For BotW - remove the 'light all the torches' part of the main quest. I mean, seriously.
Metroid Prime Trilogy - Some of the few games I consider true perfection. But, uh, maybe remove the hint system, or make it optional.
TP - I'm kind of half-on board on the 'barren/empty overworked' opinion train. So yeah, more overworld content!
Life is Strange - The graphics could've been better. A LOT better.
Undertale - The hotland section feels like very padding-y. Shorten it.
Parasite Eve - The story is a tad bit too hard to follow, at times.
OoT - WATER TEMPLE!!!!11 nah, just kidding. I'm not too fond of Jabu Jabu's Belly and the carrying thing though.
Final Fantasy IX - Zidane
Final Fantasy VI -Setzer
Nier: Automata - I do think that the combat can sometimes be a bit too messy when there's a lot of enemies on screen.

The Wind Waker HD - Fix the damn lighting!

Nier Automata - Explain controls for special moves better. I finished the game numerous times without knowing how to do the flashy finishers.

Super Mario Odyssey - Don't ruin the Mushroom Kingdom surprise with a warp painting in the Luncheon Kingdom.

Tales of Xillia - Port it to Switch!!

after having gone through Metal Gear Solid 3d, if there were a hd home console version of the game that brings in the enhancements that MGS3d brought to the table, that'd be the best version of it no question

Professor Layton Vs Phoenix Wright:
Loved the game from start to finish but it kind a felt like 80% Layton 20% Ace attorney. The puzzles; cases and characters were great and the soundtrack phenomenal but a few higher stakes and a bit more ace attorney element added as well as a few of their characters too. I get why it didn't work with the games story but it was noticeable. Definitely didn't stop me from loving the game though and binge playing the crap outta it on day 1 release.
