Plus inbetween the second and third game a new console would probably be released, I would hate to get two games but have to wait until I get money for a new console to get the third game.
I understand your concern, as it is the same as mine. Nintendo has the tendency to let the last console die, the day they release a new one. The Wii U is amazing, but in my opinion they have not done anything with it yet. Which makes me very upset. I decided to go with the Wii U late after it was released, as in the PS4 and Xbox one were already out. This was a really tough decision. I really would like a PS4 just because it is an amazing machine, but i wanted an Xbox one just because my love for Halo is just as great as my love for Zelda. But decided it would be silly for me to buy a console solely for one game, which is exactly what i would be doing. PS4 doesn't have any exclusives that im really hung up on other than Uncharted and Killzone. But Killzone bombed, and Uncharted was announced after i got my Wii U.
*getting to my point bare with me*
In the end, I hadn't really sat and played Wind Waker, and Zelda won my heart over Halo, there are a lot of games on the Virtual Console that i was interested on, that and the ability to download SNES game which the 3DS cant do (though i dont see why, must be a money thing). Considering the Wii U hasn;t really taken off yet, and the lack of Third Party support so far cuz Nintendo won't bother catering to them, which i think is dumb on their part and hope that changes, I think the Wii U should stick around a lil longer than most of their consoles. I would be great if they would keep it going till 2025, even if they do release a new console in 2020. They hurt themselves by not continuing to support their prior consoles. Especially considering the late start they all get.
what im sayin is if Nintendo were to quit being so full of themselves thinking that everyone is going to go out and buy their new console the day it is released, then they could easily start a trilogy with this new Zelda. The graphics of the Wii U are amazing, colorful with soft textures. Maybe just a tad behind the PS4 and Xbox, but most consumers who decide to choose a Nintendo console over the others, i think its safe to say that graphics are not what they are worried about. Most choose Nintendo because of the library of characters, and possible game they can use those characters in. I could go on forever about how Nintendo seems to constantly throw a middle finger up to their follower by not adding a deep online structure, acting like they can beat sony and microsoft without the help of third party developers, as well as many other things. (believe me, i could write a whole article about my issues with Nintendo's current business practices)
All im saying is that if they could show a little compassion and realize what they are doing wrong, they would have plenty of time for a Trilogy! But i guess that is all wishful thinking isn't it!
