A Cool, Cool Mountain
Splatoon actually has a ton of lore within it. It is actually really surprising how in depth the Nintendo Garage actually went. It is actually quite believable that a society full of Squid Kids that exist thousands of years after Humans Died would be exactly what Splatoon did.One of these doesn't belong with the others...
I mean, they even created entirely new fictional bands that changed with the Squid-Kids preferences 6 months after release. Now even, the Squid-Kids have differences in what music plays day by day, much like the radio.
They even went as far to create a whole counterculture to the Inklings, which again, even stems into their music as well.
The world of Inkopolis truly feels like a real place, with culture that simply isn't stimulated in other games. Never before has a game went as far to create entire cultures and countercultures, and then evolve it. Skyrim, culture has a static culture. The inhabitants listen to the same music depending on area. And this doesn't even spread only through Music. Splatoon changes clothing tastes, weapon usages, current events of the time(via splatfests), shoes, music, stages, dank memes, and everything galore.
