What Could the Gods Actually Be?

I think they're aliens that decended on what was the chaotic planet of hyrule and they simply decided to help move life and formation along and they left the magical relic the triforce behind as proof that they were there but there is no evidence so i could just be spewing hot air.

In one of my fan fictions, the Goddesses were actually three women from Earth who had become a part of an immortality experiment and were sent off to space with the genetic materials of Earth on a mission to go forth and terraform planets and re-create human life. Very science fiction.

It was actually the idea of my friend and fic co-writer. We actually made it work, though I always caution people going into readinng the fanfic that it's very much a Zelda alternate-universe type of story/ very un-conventional / that we purposefully messed with the mythology.

Magic, in our story, however, had a slightly different explaination...
