We all get stressed at times and unlike the false prophet was claiming around here, it is not just bad for inactive people. There can be positives of stress, for instance it can be a source of motivation for some, however generally I think most would agree we would like our lives to be less stressful and we all have our own ways of coping with it, perhaps it be with booze, gambling or a nice chem habit. This thread is for sharing your tips and tricks for relieving stress. So what are your methods?

My kitten purrs pretty much whenever I touch him and that makes me feel so much better. Or if he's unavailble going crazy on grand theft auto also helps

Kinda depends what is stressing me out, but usually it has to do with noise, crowded spaces, work, or anxiety. Prevention is better than relief to me, but not always possible.

Solving the first two in some circumstances is pretty easy. It includes leaving, finding a corner or spot others aren't crowded at, or in the cases where those aren't good options, I've found putting one earbud or maybe two in and setting whatever I'm listening to helps quite a lot. Lately, with these new work events, I cannot do that, so I've started focusing on blocking out the noise. I'm really not great at it, and the being crowded doesn't help much so rats.

Still assuming I'm stressed and prevention measures aren't helping, I find taking long baths does a lot particularly if I dim the lights a bit and have candles.

Reading is always a great source of stress relief.

I have like a list of movies in my head that I watch when I'm stressed out or anxious that really help very often.

Silly as it sounds, washing my hair, like really properly taking my time on it is usually pretty good for relieving stress.

A lot of my stress stems from overthinking and inability to shut brain off, so I've found a few youtubers that are stupid, but charming enough to help me just focus on their nonsense. Music sometimes helps with this, but not if I'm trying to avoid noise.

And when all else is failing me, I'll turn to writing because that almost always helps me settle down.

Cooking something can also be a good way to not go postal. Like really taking my time and focusing on every bit of whatever I'm making and being meticulous is a great way to quiet the mind.

I play a video game, watch anime, Google random questions I think of and research something, watch YouTube, and above all else, draw something. All those things let me empty my stressful thoughts and only focus on what I'm doing

I generally find stuff to eat, I need to consume food.

Sleeping and taking a shower helps me as well.

...I'm not very good at coping x.x

Work out. Studies show that people that are physically fit are greatly less stressed.

Depends what kind of stress i'm feeling; angry stress is usually resolved by some EBM and a Warriors game.

If its stress through worrying about something then sailing in The Wind Waker usually helps.

Alternatively any type of stress can be cured by intimacy with my girlfriend, provided she's not the one stressing me out.

$h!tposting, though it's not doing it for me much anymore. Doctors and human beings with a basic sense of decency cannot recommend it.

Not like I'd ever do that here though....

For me reading is a great way to calm my mind and let it focus on an entirely different world. Music has a similar effect too, I can just flick s playlist on and get lost for an hour thinking, reminiscing, imagining. Another big stress reliever for me is running. It's just me and my surroundings. I ussally run where I can't get signal and where there's no people, so no one can bother me and all I can see is landscape. Oh and not gonna lie, sex is good way to relive stress too.

I dont have so many sources of stress in my life anymore fortunately, as I don't have deadlines for things such as writing essays about things that I dont want to write essays about.

Usually the main source of stress these days is having to deal with too many people which leaves me feeling drained. The remedy for that I find is sitting in a cold darkened room away from others. That helps me recover and get back to my usual self.

I also find lifting weights can be a great way to take my mind off things at least for the duration of the session and usually I feel better leaving the gym than when I entered it.

Going out with my chums. I try to go out every week, schedules permitting. This is one of the best ways to forget worries.

Gaming is another one especially if there is a good story to it that you can get into and look forward to continuing during your next session.

Having my hair cut. If i went as often as I would like I'd not have any hair left. I love seeing my barber. I just find it so relaxing as he cuts my hair.

Playing piano.

And I think that is it for my main ones. If I think of any others I'll probably (forget to) add them.

Taking a long shower or bath helps immensly I find. Also cooking and eating something healthy, gets you going constructively.
