It's a conspiracy! There's 100 more Link's before Skyward Sword!!!1one
Ahem. I think that that the Link in Skyward Sword is the first Link. Because there was no hero to protect the surface before him. It was only Hylia and the other races banding together to fight Demise's first incarnation, otherwise the first "Demise". Link would come around after 1,000 years to take the role as the Goddesses chosen hero. Zelda would take the role of Hylia's incarnation. Impa would take the role of protecting "Her Grace", and so on. Leading to the events of Ocarina of Time. So yes, Link is the first Link in existence. Unless Nintendo thinks it's a great idea to make another prequel.

It mentions somewhere in skyward sword that their was indeed another hero before the link in skyward sword, but he was supposedly killed in the war, hopefully in the future we will see a game that will actually show the very First link.

There have been many Links before SS-Link for the simple reason that Demise has appeared many times in different forms before SS. As this thread describes, Demise's final words are essentially a law of nature linked to the Triforce, governing balance between its holders and between good and evil. It's a matter of when Nintendo decides to capitalize on this, not if they'll force in new stories. This is SS's contribution to Aonuma's effort to expand the timeline.

Good point, i dont think Nintendo would have closed their options for future Zelda game and as stated this game is about the origin of the Master sword not of Link
