I think it's definitely possible. Knowing that, I'd actually like to try it myself. I recommend that anyone try this if they think they're good at Zelda games. It sounds like a great way to prove how good you actually are. Good luck to anyone who tries it.

really?!?!!? all you needed to do was do a bunch of spin attacks. thats why you shouldnt have ran if you did, i walked through it on hero mode and beat ghirahem and the horde and only got hit once, because annoying huge sword that ghirahem has. grrr.

Yeah you can. It's damn hard but possible.
Although I didn't used much potions, like once or twice and upgrades I don't know why I was never able to upgrade my items.

I do not think it is possible because in the final dungeon (under the goddess-statue) you actually have to open the chest containing the map in order to advance to the next room
