I'm glad to hear that I'm not crazy in my struggles to control Epona. Feels way to out of control. I don't remember how it was on the Wii, but it is kind of frustrating, in particular when jumping gates, crossing bridges, or going throw narrow passages.

Now I know why that in Zelda Wii U they talked about how horses don't run into trees. :)

Since I very rarely use quick travel in Twilight Princess, I got used to them, and now have no trouble whatsoever. :)

I have to say that the overworld is my favourite in the whole series, and I've got no idea what people who complain about it are on about.

It was too barren for it's size.

And that's where I disagree. There's actually tons of stuff to do, but it's not on every corner - and that's just how it should be. Think about it: how fun would it be for a completionist like I am to want go from, say, Kakariko to Castle Town, only to have to stop for some secret or something every few seconds? That'd be Skyward Sword's overworld. Twilight Princess had enough things to do on Hyrule Field to satisfy any adventurer who wanted to explore, but not too much to be distracting. If I just want to ride my horse from point A to point B while shooting some gremlins off their oversized pigs, that's something I can do.

This might be better as a topic elsewere. For now I'll VM you my rebuttal.

The controls are so much better this time. I only had the Wii version before and the controls made me violent.

I'm enjoying it, I agree that Epona's controls is something you have to get used to, I'm still not overly confident about horseback battling, but at least I managed the escort mission better this time than any of the previous times.

I think I must be the only one that likes the new Epona controls over the older ones. I find battles on horseback more engaging this time around.
I like the new controls as well. Once you get used to it, it feels great, and it's very realistic to riding a real horse.

Oh and don't even get me started on how terrible controlling the row-boat is.

It's always been bad, really. You can't entirely rely on your own movement, you need to follow to water flow and only be gentle with moving left and right to avoid hazards. I got through the minigame on my first attempt this way for the reward, and haven't touched it since. At least it's okay when Lure Fishing. :P

To be honest, I didn't notice much trouble during the fight to save Colin, but the covered wagon fight was a LOT harder than I remembered it.

Oh definitely. I had a lot of trouble with that one. There's just so many things to do at once.

Yeah it definitely feels different, she feels more clunky. I notice it a lot more when she's running than when she's walking.
