Exactly.

You never hear artists or musicians, even great ones, say that it's due to talent. It's always a value judgment after the work was created, and nobody sees the process of that work coming to fruition.

In fact, I think artists and musicians are the types to say, "Stop talking, and start doing." The only way to get better is to do it.

Yup. You can't show the talent if you don't put in the work.

Struggling to write a maid of honor speech for my sister's wedding next month. I'm supposed to include like, a positive story or memory. But the thing is that my sister and I get along best the less we see each other. She comes out of her room every couple hours to show me a funny video, we laugh, then she leaves again and its great. We're close but we don't actually do anything together. not sure where to go with that.

Highlights:
- Spending time with my partner for a month!
- Seeing the eclipse in Cleveland
- Seeing the Harry Potter & The Cursed Child show on Broadway in NYC
- Grand Canyon National Park
- Death Valley National Park
- Paranormal tour on the Queen Mary in Longbeach, California
- Las Vegas - Enjoyed taking in the crazy scenes of the city - walked away even from the casinos

Also enjoyed:
- Exploring Philadelphia for dining and drinks
- National Aviary and eating/drinking around Pittsburgh
- Santa Monica Pier
- Joshua Tree National Park
- Museum of Modern Art
- Aquarium of the Pacific

Things I didn't enjoy so much:
- Los Angeles generally (the city is in a terrible state, we had to leave the metro pretty quickly both times we tried it during broad daylight hours as it was totally unsafe so we ended up extending our rental car)
- For the first week my arm was extremely sore so I had to visit an urgent care to get some meds (which wasn't free >.>)

Holy JEALOUS!!! I've been stuck in Utah with clingy family for vacation!

LA itself is a lot less nice than a lot of the surrounding cities (and the public transit system is awful). Glad you found fun stuff to do in Santa Monica and Long Beach.

The Joshua Tree and the Grand Canyon are both nice national parks too, sounds like a good trip.

Oh I didn't like LA either when I was there. A friend of mine showed me and my sister less touristic but great places.
