I would have to agree with Axle, mainly because it's true! But I still like the convenience of it. Hey, at least we won't have to worry about running out of Monster Horns.
I liked the whip, basically because it looked cool and it was fun to just go around whipping everything and getting rupees without going near them.
but yeah, other than in a few puzzles, the whip sucks.
i think you should have been at least able to upgrade it at the scrap shop to actually make it hurt enemies.
Yeah, I kind of hated the whip. Whenever I try to swing it overhead, it usually goes some other random direction, making it excruciatingly annoying. I liked pulling those birds out of the air, though.
I think they should have let us openly aim above us without something to target, as well. It's not the Whip that sucks, it's how it was used. At least it wasn't tossed to the side like the Spinner, though.
Though true, I really enjoyed the whip. Using it on enemies to spin them around and get them dizzy offered many a minute of laughs. And I liked stealing the Monster Horns off of enemies and watching them throw a tantrum.
I like the whip, though I do believed it could have been used a bit more. Though you can use the whip to take materials from some enemies, so if you're material hunting, it can come in handy.
the whips ok but its defiantly the most underused item in skyward sword! the problem is that every other item in the game is used so well that it makes the whip look bad but I think its still used a lot when compared to other items in other zelda games (for example the ball and chain and spinner in Twilight princess!)
I found the whip to be very useful... Like for grappling and pulling switches... But I hated how you couldn't necessarily attack with it in a certain direction, it would always end up hitting straight forward.
