Well, for the longest time in WW, I kept forgetting that R is the button you have to set things down with. (I'm used to just standing still and pressing A)
So I ended up wasting a ton of bombs that way. (Along with accidentally throwing magtails I needed to set down on buttons.)

In MM, (first time I played), I didn't know you had to wait for the dialogue box to appear in order to give things to people, so when I first found Koume (or was that Kotake?) fallen in the Woods of Mystery, I kept on accidentally drinking the red potion. xD

Other than that, there's always the occasional stupid death, or whatever.... but I can't really think of anything else. :/

For my first playthrough of Twilight Princess, I immediately went to Death Mountain without Iron Boots. I didn't turn back. I kept trying to get past that Goron who knocks you down. I managed to grab him a number of times and assumed I was on the right path, but was doing something wrong. That little prick got me 10 game overs before I finally turned around and realized I had to go back to Ordon.

When I first did the Forest Temple in OoT (I was probably around 9) and you have to shoot the switch to untwist the hallway on the west side, I didn't know you could reshoot the eye to open it up and twist the hallway again. I told my friend you had to save, turn the game off and back on to reset it, because the temple was meant to be played in more than one sitting and they assumed you'd take a break before going that way again... :0

I used to go to the windmill and use it as a treadmill. lol and in my hero mode playthrough of SS in the lanayru mines I forgot you could pick up the electric shelled things (excuse me I forgot what they are called) with the beetle. I kept trying to pick them up and throw them up the make shift steps. lol

The first Zelda game I ever played was Ocarina of Time.

I kept dying over and over and over when I was trying to beat Ganon because I was using the Biggoron Sword. I'd hit him with it like a hundred times; each attempt must have been at least half-an-hour including the run out of the castle with Zelda. Then I finally checked ZD and found out that the Master Sword is the only thing that can defeat Ganon and beat him in five minutes... hahaha. :xd: But at least it lead me here! :D

Sigh, I did that too, ashamed to say. I didn't need to check out a guide, but damn, I felt like an idiot  Took me like 15 minutes to realise he wasn't gonna go down.

I also found that out the hard way. But nowadays I do it just to fight him for extended periods of time.

When I first got Majora's Mask, I spent the whole day in anticipation waiting to play the game. When I finally opened the box and read the instruction manual, I read that time will constantly progress.....I took this to mean that even if the game was paused then time would keep moving in game....needless to say I didn't pause the game to go to the bathroom because I thought I would die by the time I got back lol

Playing Skyward Sword for the first time, I got stuck at the volcano the first time you visit for 4 HOURS. It took me that long to get my stupid butt to a computer an read that I had to bowl a bomb across a narrow bridge to blow up some rocks and lower the lava.

Also, in Skyview, I got stuck for half an hour in the first room with the eye. I was spin attacking forever before I looked it up only to see that I have to rotate my sword.

Skyward Sword is the only Zelda in which I made such face-palming mistakes.

The same thing happened to me but in the Lanayru Desert. There's a part when you have to get to some rocks that are across a big patch of quick sand and I spent hours throwing bombs, flying the Beetle, trying everything I could to get them. I could not figure out what I had to do until I suddenly remembered I could roll bombs. So I tried that and lo and behold it was the solution.

I felt like such a twonk

Reviving thread... CLEAR!

I was playing Twilight Princess tonight and was on the battle with Zant - where he puts you through all these environments you've been in before.

I wound up getting a Game Over because when I hit the underwater level, I put on the iron boots and got the clawshots out... I was focused on trying to clawshot Zant and had no idea why I was beeping, because he wasn't hitting me *that* much. That's when I noticed the oxygen gauge going down to zero.

I'd forgotten to switch to the Zora Tunic. Poor Link, all pumped up in the heat of battle and promptly drowned by player-oversight!
