Sometimes we all like songs, and we all sing them as young, naive kids, but then we grow up and realize what they were singing about.
So what songs do you listen to where you didn't know the meaning of the lyrics until much later in your life?
For me, it was Iron Maiden's "Be Quick Or Be Dead".
I always assumed that it was just criticizing government and politicians, until I realized that the issues the song was addressing were actually much more specific to British economic and political issues, and was a more mature song than I gave it credit for.
Not that Maiden's lyrics are stupid, but I didn't think a song around 3 minutes and 30 seconds long had that much to say.
So what songs have you had this revelation with?
