You say if he’s lying he’s most likely scum but that’s true of basically everyone at any given time and since the only way to know for sure is to shoot him, miss, and if he doesn’t fire back wait until the end of the day and see if he dies. Seems quite risky imo, and anyway it doesn’t seem like the sort of thing scum would make up, as we could just lynch them instead of risking retaliation.
Not necessarily true. Townies often lie because claiming their true role may be harmful to them or others, or because they put themselves in a difficult position that they cannot solve by just being honest, and then decide to lie because they themselves know they are town and think that lying is justified if it saves a townie (in this case, them). And let’s be honest, if ALIT is adding roles who have to shoot under certain conditions, he may have added roles with restrictions on normal claims as well. Who knows what Musicfan is really thinking.
Though generally I am inclined to believe claims at ZD, only a handful of people here are pathelogic liars.
But it’s just too far fetched for him to start lying on this point, considering all the other options he still has on the table (like just defending your decision), and no one else than scum would benefit from this doubt he would’ve created.
Nonetheless, like I said I’m not yet sold in his claim. I think it is more than likely that it is true but there are several loose ends to his claim as I mentioned in my last post.
It doesn’t seem that complicated, it could be as simple as you don’t get to shoot unless someone shoots you first and then you must retaliate or die. Probably doesn’t matter if people keep shooting you.
Yes, that’s a possibility. In that case he can shoot more than once. But that will also draw attention, everyone will know he is different once that happens, making it extremely easy to roleclaim.
I don’t think it would be a mafia role. This game is fairly small, there will not be more than 2-3 mafia members. A role like this would severely weaken them, with all these random shots, a mafia member who OMGUS shoots all the time is not bound to survive very long. It rather seems like a random town role (perhaps even 3rd party, but that doesn’t matter).
So IMO, if he can prove his claim has truth to it, I will believe he is town, if we fail to establish that along the way, I will eventually vote for him.
