Breath of the Wild Should the Master Sword Return?

The whole selling point of Zelda U has been that it's a change-up from what the series normally is. Way back when we first started hearing about it there was a quote from Aonuma or someone of similar position and importance that said that they want Zelda U to be the kind of game where you look at it and are surprised that it's Zelda or something along those lines. Already we've been seeing that in Link's design and his bow and arrow and possibly that book/tablet thing on his waist in the new artwork. I see no reason why after all of that they should just fall back to Ganondorf and the Master Sword. That would kind of defeat the purpose.

So no, I don't want it to return. I want something new. I want a sword with a similar style as the arrow we saw. That would be very cool.

Yeah, like maybe a really long side quest involving it that goes something an like old elderly sage character tells him the sword is losing its power, so Link takes it and has to restore it somehow. Upon doing that, he's allowed free access to it at any time.

The Master Sword is an iconic Zelda item that should not change with time. Like Shiek said, 'something that does not change with time is a memory of younger days.' The Master Sword, along with the green cap and the Triforce, is how many people recognize the Zelda series, and should be one of the only things that stays put and left alone throughout the series' timeline.

Well it looks like it is indeed returning. :)
It may be returning but at least they're doing it in a different way. According to the title logo the Master Sword is rusted and cracked and in ruin. So it's definitely not gonna be the usual "go find the sword and stab ganon" we've been having. I'm excited to see how this will turn out.

Now Ganon is confirmed the Master Sword should be an essential item. You shouldn't be able to kill Ganon without it.

Witch makes it strange that you can apparently go to a beat the final boss Ganon, from the very beginning of the game. Will not having the Master Sword make it almost impossible to do? or is it untrue that it's even possible at that point?
