Sicario - 8/10

This was a pretty dark movie that highlights the violence of drug cartels operating in Mexico and the southern United States that makes you question your morality at times. There are corrupt cops and people who are in cartel busting for revenge. It's definitely a hard watch and extremely violent at times, but it does a good job highlighting the darkness of its subject matter.
Yeah Emily Blunt is brilliant in it. It lets you see a world you better respect and not meddle in or else you end up in a wall…
The Quiet Place
10/10 So good It is so scary I would recommend it I don't even have words to describe it
Great movie! Part II is my favorite. Day One (Prequel is coming out this year), and Part III is being made! :)

The Cave (2005)
6 out of 10
Borrows from Pitch Black, even has an actor from it, and of course it uses elements from Alien. What is impressive is how well lit it is without being too well lit that it ruins the terror scenes. The ending was a great grim twist.
It is based on folk legends in Romania, that there is an ecosystem in the mountains, with monsters…

well technically there are insects etc in real life that adapt to their surroundings in cave and deep underground like glow in the dark or even see through scorpions. Not that hard to believe.

Indeed, fish born without eyes in deep dark and etc.
Its an interesting movie, and the tension is well done.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga - 9/10

George Miller continues to delight. I'll never get tired of high octane vehicle fights in an apocalyptic wasteland. Dementus is an entertaining villain who lives up to his namesake with the creatively cruel ways he delights in torture. The ending tied in well with setting up Mad Max Fury Road.

Nemesis (1992) an odd but pretty good cyborg sci Fi action flick where everyone was in insane great shape especially the women.

Even a young Thomas Jane was in the movie as Billy. Dunno how young he was back then in 1992 but dang. Noone was a slob in the movie.

Brion James was probably the only slob that was in decent shape while everyone else was jacked up with muscles especially the women

Gone Girl

Watched it last night because I've always heard that it's great. It's not. I think the premise is pretty good but there's now much to be said for the direction, cinematography, or acting. The scripting was kind of lame but the soundtrack was unobtrusive. Ben Affleck has never been my first choice and he maintained his demeanor in this film. Would not watch again.

Alien Resurrection

Watched this earlier this week. Sure, the cloning was a thinly veiled excuse to bring back Ripley and the queen womb/Newborn stuff was goofy but overall, it was definitely an Alien movie and I had fun with it. We're watching Fellowship of the Ring tonight and I'm calling Alien Resurrection a prequel for Wormtongue's story since he's in both movies. I'm not a Ron Perlman cultist like a lot of nerds but he definitely has his place and Alien Resurrection is directly in the center of that place; he was a joy in this movie. The Newborn being sucked through a bullet hole was fantastic.

Alien Ressurection is actually a fun entry, it did give us the “what if they did tame them and make them into bio weapons” albiet briefly and showing how nuts that is. The Newborn is freaky, but very H. R. Giger inspired, giving us a grotesque glimpse of the physical representation of what Ripley 8 is, a hybrid. Which if you think about it is kinda poetic.

I am hoping once Scott and his team leave The Alien franchise, we will get The Dark Woman (Sil like being from Species who is Xenomorph goddess) and what Xenomorph really embodies and is meant to do.
