I am going to do the three heart run on this game real soon has any one else done the three heart run and if you did was it difficult

Okee, I'm currently between the Shadow and Spirit Temples. I beat the Shadow Temple about a week ago, but haven't played since then. I do not yet have the Biggoron's Sword, Fire Arrows, Epona, or the Mask of Truth. I do have the Golden Scale (woo 24 pounder!), a broken Giant's Knife, Cojiro the cucco, 3 bottles with Fairies in them, about 20-30 Gold Skulltullas, 12 1/2 hearts (the 1/2 is the 2 pieces of heart that I have), the Bunny Hood, the Big Wallet, and... that's about it, minus the stuff that I can't get and the stuff that was mandatory to get.
Well, I guess that's a pretty good description of my current point in the game

Does anyone know how hard the Three Heart run for this game is because I am about to do it and I am thinking of never using a fairy during the Three Heart Run but I need to know how hard it is before I decide if I am going to do it hardcore or not.
