14: Zeru
Meanwhile in the Twilight Realm, young king Zeru talked to his older assistant, Azlek.
Zeru was a 14 year-old Twili that greatly resembled his father. His skin was pale white like milk, and he had black eyes with red pupils. He was covered in silky black robes with intricate red markings on them.
Azlek wore the same robes as Zeru. He was in his mid-30s and always wore a bluish-purple mask with spikes around it. He was very tall, extending from the obsidian floor over 6 feet.
"Zeru," Azlek started, "I must tell you about your past."
Zeru turned around and looked around at the black walls of the castle halls. "I've heard this story a million Rupees worth," he said coolly with a teenage tone of voice.
"Those were...those were lies," Azlek began, an almost tragicness filled the cool air, as a a breeze came through the open window. "You were not created by the Twili."
"But...but I know I was, that's why my mother and father aren't here. That's why I became king when I was born."
"Zeru, how you came to be here is a very long story. It all started about fifteen years ago. Your father, Zant, was defeated and killed by a young boy named Link. Then, the god of the goddess of the Tetraforce, Maru, revived him. *In his wrath, he found the young Queen Midna and raped her. Afterward, Midna hid in a parallel universe and gave birth to you. You were taken back here because of your destiny with the Triforce of Power, while your mother, Midna, stayed in that parallel universe. Meanwhile, your father, Zant, was found and killed by Twili because of what he did to Midna and the fall of the Twilight Realm. And that's how you became king..."
Zeru was now trying to hold back tears. "But..." he started to protest, but he could trust Azlek with his life and he knew he wasn't lying.
"Now look at your hand. That is the symbol of the Triforce of Power. You must find and kill the others chosen by the goddesses, if we are to win the Battle of the Parallel Universes."
And so the Twili thought they had the battle won, but the battle had just begun.
