Nintendo has just revealed a New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the Nintendo 3DS which will release in Japan in August of this year.

When was a WiiU version ever announced? New Super Mario Bros. Mii isn't an official game for the WiiU. Although I'm still unsure about this Super Mario 4 business. Maybe that'll be the Mario game for WiiU.

According to IGN, Nintendo of America has confirmed an August release date as well. Sweet!

Pretty exciting, I hope there are more old and new power ups than in Super Mario 3D Land though. I hope they also change the NSMB music... I prefer classic Mario music to the NSMB sound tracks. Although... WHY IS IT NEW SUPER MARIO BROS. 2???

/lol kidding -- there hasn't been a Mario game that I HAVEN'T enjoyed. I loved NSMBDS and NSMBWii. NSMB3DS will definitely hit home again, I'm sure of it.
