Honestly, tech death is a brutal genre to start with, and it's easier to ease yourself into the more extreme genres.Now that I have more freedom, I need to get to know heavy metal bands. Any recommends? I am Heavy Metal Virgin, so any help would be great.

For classic metal, I'd suggest my all time favorite Iron Maiden. They're awesome.

Bruce Dickinson is one of the greatest metal vocalists of all time. Still sounds great to this day because of how much he takes care of himself.Woah! Powerslave is sick! He sounds a little like Ozzy Osborne in his prime.
