Least Favorite Pokemon?

Exactly my thinking. When I saw Vanillite, I thought they ran out of ideas at the moment they created it. It seems too... I don't know, easy to create. When you look at Pokemon like Drowzee, I seriously doubt any ordinary person could make THAT out of an aardvark. They used to be so creative and used creatures, mythical or real, to start, then went crazy with it's abilities and differentiations from that original creature. With Vanillite and, like you said, Litwick, they seem to have just picked up an object and drew a face on it.

Yeah the Pokemon seem a bit generic now. I like the throwbacks to mythos in Japan like Whiscash and the belief that catfish created earthquakes under Japan which is prevelant in Zelda lore as well in A Link to the Past. This is kinda true with Thundurus, Landorus, and Tornadus, but their sprites are almost identical it's laughable. I always confuse them and they all look pretty much the same. They could have at least had different poses, or looked less like clones of one another.

I see the same thing with the Kami trio, but I'm pretty sure the reason they look identical is because the things they're based on look almost identical. Like you said, though, they could have at least made them have different poses.

at least having the leader of them look different would have been cool. I hope that Black and White 2 remedy a few of these things.

It seems like they just got lazy and started coming up with Pokemon out of everyday objects. I look around the room I'm in and I see Litwick, Lampent, and Chandelure easily. (Yeah we have a hanging lamp/chandelier in one room)
To be fair, Chandalure and his pre-evolutions are actually pretty decent creature designs that have their own style, whereas, yeah, Vanillite as well as Klink are basically just "inanimate object with a silly face", which is generally a pretty lazy design method but is especially terrible in Pokemon.

That said neither qualify as my least favorite Pokemon. For me that would be all three of the Kami Trio, Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus.

To begin with, the Kami Trio have literally the exact same design. All differences are secondary and extremely minor. We stopped thinking virtual palette swaps made for acceptable game design sometime after the original Mortal Kombat, and in a DS game it's just lazy. Weirdest legendaries for being so indistinguishable. Furthermore, even ignoring that and only discussing each one on their own, these Pokemon don't even look like Pokemon. They barely even look like actual monsters. They look more like odd cartoon characters, not monsters, and they certainly don't match any of the design ideas in Pokemon... even those of their fellow Gen V Pokemon. They're the saddest designs of the whole series.

Bidoof. They are just EVERYWHERE. Plus, whenever I actually battled with one, it fainted when the opponent used tackle.
