All righty. But unless the "portal" also appeared in the Origins trailer on that structure-deal, I still fail to see how the two are connected.

Look in the background of the first photo. It's got a foresty look to it, just like the one with the wall. It just seems to me like they'd correlate.

Well, in the overview trailer, the scene right before the portal is shown has the large stone you guys are talking about, with some freaky glowing and a slightly different Hyrule Crest.

I wouldn't put much thought into this being a dark world portal... We already have the silent realm to contend with in this game and adding another realm would be ridiculous. Besides the Dark World wouldn't have any significance in this game. It's a simple matter of overthinking. It's a portal, nothing more, nothing less.
