I'd add Claw Gauntlets: They could be a cross between the clawshot or double claw shots and then a normal mode where they'd just be like gloves. Using these they would function exactly like the Clawshots allowing you to do everything the clawshots did. Meanwhile, the glove function would allow you to dig like the digging claws from SS, but also allow you to rip into walls and climb up them. It would be a brilliant all around tool that could add a lot to the games I think.

how about some kind of distracting device? in stealth portions of a game (Forsaken fortress, eldin volcano, silent realms, etc.) It can be thrown to distract the enemies and lure them away from their post. that can be effective in those portions of zelda games in many ways. In the forsaken fortress in wind waker, Link could throw something to make a moblin look away when there is no barrel to hide in. He could also distract the searchlights in the same way. In the silent realms in SS, link could use an item like that to distract a watcher that is hovering over a tear, not moving. In the eldin volcano part of skyward sword during the song of the hero quest, link could distract bokoblins who are guarding the only way forward, and he could quickly and quietly sneak by while the enemy is investigating.

Straight Shot Bow. It functions just like the bow but it shoots perfectly straight. Add the Hawkeye and you can easily pick off those far away enemies.

Okay this isn't as epic as some of the others here...but a water sprayer. Like the gust bellows only with water. Puts out fires that are in the way and does massive damage to fire enemies. And you could run around soaking random people
You mean the FLUDD from Mario Sunshine?

I think I'd invent the Cane of Block-making. You swing it and it makes a huge block that can be pushed into place. I believe this is a somewhat original item.

We had distracting items since the first game bro, the meat.

That's kind redundant?

How about a cane that makes a swirly magic thingie that protects Link AND attacks foes as well?

Oh yeah, here's the one I forgot-

Balloon of War (hur de dur): A big red MM Tingle style balloon. It would float you up to a certain point off the ground. It could also let you gently drift downwards when you jump off a cliff, similar to a Cuccoo. You could combine this with a gust jar-like item to create a flying mechanic. If it touched spikes, though, it could pop, sending you straight back down. You could pay for a repair and also upgrade the material so it doesn't pop as easily. You could also tie the balloon to another item, such as a block, to make it float upwards as well.
