I think Shigure Miyamoto is a cat person, so Link would probably be a cat person too. He can name it Jish.

Well of course you have Epona.
You have the Crimson Loftwing.
You can get a Cow.
In a sense, he has a pig.
And at nighttime, Hyrule Market is flooded with dogs (OoT), and if you walk up to a dog it'll start following you.
So you could say it's your part-time pet.

I think Link would have a bird sort of like a kestrel. It just seems to suit his style. As for a name, well that doesn't matter much to me seeing as to how Link would have a kestrel.
