Hollow victories

Have there ever been any moments in Zelda where've you've accomplished a task or taken out a boss just to feel let down or stabbed in the back by the following events?

For example, in other games where you finally take down a difficult boss only to be given a cutscene where your character is defeated by the boss you just defeated in order to move the story forward.

Anything like that in the Zelda series that has felt like that for you?

Any endgame victory in Zelda is Hollow. It may take another game for you to realise i lt but when your greatest foe is an immortal Demon King, defeating him only delays his next campaign of terror which never fails to come.

Defeating Dark Beast Ganon in Twilight Princess is the one that felt the most hollow to me. I didn't for one second believe the line of bull that he was actually dead. That particular battle simply wasn't epic enough to be a final boss. They tried playing it out as though he was dead, but I knew he wasn't.

Yeah, about 90% of the end-game rewards and 100% completion events: because they're usually just F***in' rupees. As if by the end of the game I actually care about rupees.

Yes, always. Because the fight is much more fun than the win. That, and I can't really think of a truly hard Zelda boss.

Anytime I stop Ganon or Ganondorf. I know he'll be back in some way or form. Legend of Zelda the game that delays the inevitable.
