Well considering All Might and Pen seem to be the top considerations for today I don't think it matters too much if I did instead.

Does what you know of his role entail that he's Mafia? For example, you could somehow know that he was sent to NK funnier or some such. I don't think that your steadfastness is that unbelievable.

I'm uncertain that he's mafia but I'm definitely suspicious. I would have been suspicious of him coming into today because of what I know about him, the fact he has two boosts, and that he was really pushing the Ezlo lynch yesterday. All of that would have made me reasonably suspicious on him today. But then you saying roles were on a first come first serve type of basis pushed me to being super suspicious of him or you.

If he's telling the truth then he's probably town. If he's not then he's probably scum. I know that is kinda common since, but knowing what I know scum Pen wouldn't visit funnier (unless to kill him).
