PART I: THE JINN WINS
The Desert decides.. who lives or dies.. it is a harsh wasteland that tests travelers. Beneath the harsh sun gold is of no value, and water is more precious than kingdoms.
Ekphra was man who had chosen to brave the arid realm, leaving the safety of Hylian fields and markets. He was seeking treasures, and it was said in the desert, that the Gerudo had buried some of finest trinkets of all. However nothing had gone as planned...
Figures of towering height began to give chase towards the Ruins of the Seven Heroines, they had great spears with trident blades, the long shafts gleaming in gold as they were in prusuit of the Voe. He had broken the written rule of the Gerudo, he had entered the Village as man. The crime of being male was hard for this Thief to contemplate, the buxom and well toned ladies with their sun darkened bodies were pleasing to the eye. How did they have more children? Was it a process akin to the Deku who just sprout? He tried not to laugh at this thought. Ekphra made for great columns in the sands, there was sacred ground which hasten his prusuers who probably though him being a man would defile it.
The Voe Thief made for one of the shrines and ducked behind stone, he heard the leader of these Towering Beauties say,
"Find him! This Voe Foe must be punished!"
He had to admit his mind went to forms of chastisement that to him were pleasing, he lingered there for a moment in thought before he crawled over to another one of Seven Shrines, candles flickering as the sun began to set. He looked at faces of these gods that the Mighty Women of the Desert worshiped. They were goddesses of course, it seemed to be a whole thing, no men allowed even in their faith. Then again in Hyrule they worshiped gods of female sex too, Nayru and Hylia. So maybe the Gerudo were right, being a man was some sort of sin...
One of the Gerudo Guards with her pitchfork nearly caught him, sweeping with her face scarf, was that to prevent him from gazing at her beauty? Or something more practical, to keep the wind blown sand from entering her mouth? He came to a shrine rather seperared from the others, its stones were darkened as if made of an altogether more menacing in their shapes, looking gnarled with points the shape of stakes. The goddess that had been in its center was collapsed, and there was opening among the stones like a grave robbed. No candles, and the Gerudo seemed to stay clear of it. Ekphra thought to himself it would be a good place to hold out. So he dropped down into the dark.
There in the blackness he listened, when a gust of wind seemed to come from deeper in this dark stone room. That was strange because it came not from opening, and he was underground. He heard the Gerudo Leader say, "He escaped! We must report back to the Chief." He began to chuckle a little, he had outwitted them, or so he thought. He had not considered why they avoided searching for him at this Eight and final shrine. It was then that he noticed a light, turning he squinting decided to follow the red light. Perhaps there was some opening that was feeding the light down, and maybe there was something of value down in this tomb. He made his way through was was some sort of corridor, and came to a crescent shape room, there was water along the walls feeding into a black fountain shaped square. Approaching he was curious as he looked at something floating deep beneath the surface, it appeared to be a onyx colored cube the circumfrance of a crown. He took a step into the waters, when suddenly the flow began to increase from the walls, he tried to get the cube and pull it free, sinking and then rising up to gasp as he drew air into his lungs, the water level was rising. He had only one more chance, and so he using his legs against a wall pushed and took the cube up on his knees and got it over the fountain wall. He then began to push it as the water level came to his chest, and then neck, whatever it was had triggered this boobytrap and so it must be valuable.
He tried pushing it with his feet when suddenly he felt himself and it drawn back by great pressure, as if an sunction and he and cube were drawn under and back to to fountain, and then.. above the surface there was an eruption of great water into geyser throwing Ekphra and the cube into air as he fell on sand dune and rolled for a while, leaving a trail of his body shape. The Cube landed on the sand and rather than sinking it levitated above the grains. The Thief voiding sand and water coughed, his chest heaving and his back trembling. Once he got his bearrings, he turned and saw the cube floating. Approaching the prize, he thought to himself aloud,
"Hmm.. magic.."
He had encountered strange treasures with powers, though he tended to believe magic was simply illusion, tricks played on the mind by well crafted technologies of the Sheikah. Grabbing the cube he tired to examine it, on it was markings which glowed gold. He tried to see if they were perhaps gold, though how to remove it from this stone work would require a smith. Taking it over to Ruins of twisted rock, he sat down and let out a great sigh, when he noticed the same markings over at base of felled statue. Taking the cube he headed over to it and saw ones that seemed to compliment the cube, and place for shape of the cube. Without a thought he placed it on the altar, and suddenly the cube exploded and threw on his back. The Voe was coughing as he found smoke rising from where the cube had stood and now in its black a lamp of finest gold. His eyes grew with the glow of greed,
"Holy Hylia! At last a break!"
He came to the lamp and taking it up, he was surprised by its weight.
"Oh this will fetch a fine price!"
As he examined it, his hands brushed against the lamp in a rubbing fashing, when suddenly a bolt of crimson and black lighting struck him and he was thrown against one of columns, and he dropped the lamp which levitated and pouring out of it was smoke of black, rising out of it was a towering figure, it had long hair of reddish orange that, dark skin like that of the Gerudo, and a fine dress of black with gold lining around the arms and waist. Though most striking of all was two great horns rising up from his forehead of deepest black and her eyes, she had four of them and they were glowing white in the flame of orange. She had a tail of coral red in shape of spear point. Ekphra looking at her began to tremble..
"At last! After eons I am free!"
She fixing her eyes on the One that had released her,
"You must be my Rab Bo Na!"
Ekphra replied with shudder,
"Uh.. uh.."
Levitating down with her bare feet she drew near to him,
"A Voe! So it has been a hundred years at least. A long sleep.. though I have had longer."
Ekphra coughed,
"I must be hallucinating from nearly drowning.."
She chuckled as she grabbed his cheek with her charcoal black claws,
"I can assure you I am very real."
He could not deny the tug and rather forceful jerk of her hand felt very real.
"My name is Merunia, you can call me Meru if you prefer and I have come to bring you pleasure.."
Ekphra's eye lids stretched so that the whites were fully clear,
"Uh.. pleasure?"
She opened her mouth and a long serpentine black tongue licked his cheek.
"Oh yes.. great pleasure."
