Food in Loz

So I have been thinking recently and wondering, what does Link eat? It is obvious that food exists in the game. In LoZ, you could buy some meat that would heal you and in various other games you can drink milk. But as far as I know that's about it. What do you think Link eats?

It probably depends on where he is and when he is. I'd assume that the majority of the Links eat berries and roots and maybe small animals, while perhaps Wind Waker Link eats fish.

In SS, he eats pumpkin soup and stamina fruit. In other games, he seems to subsist off of potions, milk, and the hearts of his enemies.

Soup, apples, milk, potions, bee larvae, mushrooms, meat, fish, peppers, stamina fruit, ect.

The most obvious answer is he devours the hearts of his enemies. However we see a range of different foods throughout the series including meat, mushrooms, apples, cheese, fish and pumpkins. Some of which we dont see link consume but are obviously eaten by Hylians and we might assume he ate as well. With other foods we actually can witness Link consuming them.

What we can be sure of is Link ate a fair bit of soup on his adventures. Hardly surprising considering it is handy to take on the road. Whether his own grandmothers delicious concoction or a dubious black swill brewed up by a guy in the woods sporting an afro.

Well, we've seen him eating tons of stuff in Breath of the Wild now. As for before, I'm not sure. Can you make a deku nut butter and chu jelly sandwhich?
